notes: holy shit!!! sorry this took so long. i have had most of this chapter written for months but somehow i was not emotionally available to write the last couple of scenes for a long time. hopefully this does not disappoint. ya'll must know by now i love an underwhelming/ongoing ending, but i promise there's at least one good twist.

chapter-specific warnings: fire!!!!!! i would say the main serious warning here though is (non-explicit) discussion of past childhood sexual abuse. sometimes my warnings are a little frivolous but this one isn't. other than that i'd say the only thing to be aware of is that i clearly don't understand what a tax shelter is or how visas work.
