“Sentimentality,” Father said, striding forward towards him, “I thought I had burned that out of you.”
And Zuko’s hands went to the hilt of his swords.

Azula didn’t know what would’ve happened, if she dragged Zuko along with her. If she’d braved her father and stayed. If she’d done a thousand little things, instead of leaving lilies on his bedside table and running.
What Azula did know, however, the scent of fear. Of burning flesh. Knew how scared she’d been, eight years old and knowing that there was a monster in her home. Knowing that the monster had taken her brother, and that it would come for her to.
---
But Zuko was in front of her now, and their monster wasn’t around.

I know you said Zuko will go through some healing journey lwpr. Will he get a one on one adventures with each members of the Gaang?
Thanks for the ask!
Sort of. Unlike LWPR, the healing arc (which I'm so far calling Spring Will Come Again) is a little less structured, so I'm writing it as I go. However, I know at least 2 of the gaang are getting to go on a field trip with Zuko for sure. The others might pair up for some trips. It's going to be mostly group-focused because the plot kind of needs them to be in small groups. Anyway, I won't spoil it too much, but the two are Aang and Sokka! For groups, I've got Zuko, Azula and Katara doing smth fun (aka not fun for them, fun for me).
Hello, I recently read your White Lily, Red Poppy story and it is amazing.
I got to know, since the rest of the Gaang now know Zuko's story from Azula, how they feeling about him now?
Hi! Thank you for the ask!!! I have been turning it over in my head for a while now. Short answer? It's complicated, and not a ton actually changed in how they perceive him. Long answer below
Below them, the sounds of the battle continued to rage on. But now that they'd cleared the Plaza, and made it into the Caldera, the rest of it was up to the others. For Aang and his friends, they had one goal.
Azula leaned over the saddle, scanning the horizon and intermittently turning to update Sokka. Katara, Toph and the Kyoshi Warriors were quiet and grim.
“To the Palace, Appa,” Aang said, patting his best friend, “Fly high to avoid the catapults.”
Appa rumbled, and Aang thought, distantly, how uncomfortable his fur must feel trapped under battle armour.

Azula looked at his father's desk. The Firelord's desk. And took her place behind it.
“Shall we play a game of Pai Sho?” Uncle asked.
Azula smiled back, all teeth, “Yes, let's.”
[Or, a conclusion, of sorts.]

“You should stop,” Azula said, nodding to the water floating between her hands, “You’ll exhaust yourself.”
“If I don’t move, I might go insane,” Katara said honestly.
Azula knew that feeling. Her first few battles had been like that because no matter how much she’d practiced as a Firebender, there was something so unsettling about knowing a battle was coming.
Azula sat down. Katara made an aborted sound at the suddenness. Azula patted the place next to her and said, “Sit.”
“Is that an order, Princess?”
Chapter 31 wip for Lily White, Poppy Red
When Katara had been younger, she’d thought of war as something explosive. Something abrupt and violent like the death of her mother. She’d since realised that war was a lot slower than that.
[A lot of conversations take place, each as important as the last.]
