♣ – the night was gorgeous, stars blotted out by the luminous lights the cruise ship gave off and the usually quiet evening penetrated by the ambient sounds of chatter and clinking glasses. not exactly an upscale gathering but rather a public cruise ship for those with extra money lining their pockets, he indulged himself and made way to take advantage of his earnings if not just for the duration of a few days. eland cruise line was highly sought after for a reason. wedding anniversaries. birthdays. proposals. or just modern day luxury. it certainly seemed luxurious in to him, deep russet brown eyes scaling the array of the professionally prepared buffet with a sipped scotch in one hand and an empty plate in the other. it was only the third hour on the boat. music played from a live dj and those who had already seen the bar more times than he danced away on the deck with faces of strangers that would soon become unavoidable. he made a silent commitment to join later but for now the arrangement of freshly cut fruits and savory grilled meats called his name.

several dishes made him hesitant though. they so clearly contained seafood that he wondered at the sake of his allergy if any other dishes were at risk of exposure to the same preparation utensils. he swore inwardly, eyes fixated upon the steak that looked so delectable, his feet glued to his spot.

Spring cleaning means just that. Cleaning. The entire building is doing it, their CEO having come back from a two-week trip to Bangkok spewing nonsense about chakra and energy and spirits. Spirits! 

“Fuck your spirits,” Chanyeol had screamed inside his office, shaking his fist angrily up at the roof. 

Chanyeol’s office is a mess of papers. 

He has about ten different versions of the same draft sitting at different parts of his office. It’s like he doesn’t own a computer, paper laying all over his office, taking up half the space of the room. 

He’s just throwing everything down large garbage bags, peering into them and often deciding they aren’t worth to keep. There’s a bunch of month old bills, letters, correspondence, and flyers that are being trashed out and sent to recycling. 

Linzy speaks to him from where she’s helping him clear out, and he turns, looking at what she’s holding. It’s a stack of letters, love letters, and Chanyeol turns positively red, quickly reaching out to grasp them. 

“Give me that,” he huffs, taking it in his hands. They’re all from his ex girlfriends, the one that helped him write his very first book. They had a bitter fall out, but it’s these letters that help him grow either angry or sad when he needs to. It’s a source of pain and inspiration, and if he were to ever explain that out loud, he knows he’d just sound stupid.

♚ —  ❝Who the fuck are you?❞ It wasn’t too often that he wandered around the streets, much rather preferring to be in louder environments that could provide some type of... sound for him, no matter how muted. So it’s a bit of a surprise for Enzo to feel a body gently brush against his own as he stands against a wall doing particularly nothing besides scrolling away on his phone. He assumes the person, woman, had been speaking to him before, but since he couldn’t see her lips the words were lost in damaged nerves. Putting some distance between them, he glances at her face before focusing on her lips– something he hoped wouldn’t be taken the wrong way considering he needed to do it.  ❝And if you said something you might wanna repeat again, didn’t catch it.❞
