Headcanon: Luta's name
Luta's original name was Soleil. She was a shiny Eevee who was slated to evolve into a Flareon, taking on the golden color of the shiny line.
However a chance encounter with a rock covered in Bryum miniatum changed all that.
She changed her name to something she liked better, that being Luta. A friend told her it means 'red', and she liked that simplicity, as well as the way it sounded on her tongue.
So the name stuck.
