Every time I hear the song Scotty Doesn’t Know by Lustra (which is pretty often) all I can think about is this girl I went to college with who I was driving with one time & she was playing music and this TERRIBLE cover of Scotty Doesn’t Know come on - idk who did it but it was very slow and yearning and a woman was singing
So we had been discussing music so I’m like oh I’ve never heard this cover I think the original is better and she says with full confidence:
“Oh I like this version better cause it’s not about cheating” mind you alllll the lyrics were the same the only change was a woman was singing so I was like “um ??? No this song is about cheating the girl the song is about is cheating on Scotty that’s the whole point”
And this girl is fully like “no see it’s a woman singing so it makes them lesbians so they can’t cheat. Cause she’s actually a lesbian so she’s not cheating on Scotty idk why they’re together.”
Crazy take!! What’s crazier is she cheated on 5 diffrent partners while we were in college but apparently since she’s a lesbian it wasn’t cheating???
