My parents are watching a movie called fountain of youth, and there's a whole setpiece where they have to raise a portion of the Lusitania, and genuinely my jaw fucking DROPPED at how fucking accurate it was. They had the first class staircase wrapping around the cage for the elevator, and the second story of the first class dining room, and the observation room beneath the bridge, and you could see the remnants of the white plaster work and pillars that were used to decorate the ship. Like, there were some problems, like how the wreck isn't really in a state where any significant portion of it is very recognizable, never mind raiseable, and I dont think the rooms that they showed were in the portion of the ship that they raised, but all in all, for a movie that had no reason to be historically accurate in any way, I'm SHOCKED at how well it was handled. They even made a huge point about not taking anything because it's a war grave. Compared to movies like raise the Titanic, where the whole point of the movie was raising Titanic, I'm shocked that they put the time, money, and effort into this one scene that's like 15 minutes long in a movie thats not even about the Lusitania. My one big gripe is the fact that THEY CALLED HER A FUCKING CRUISE LINER OF ALL THE THINGS TO FUCK UP THATS THE EASIEST GOD DAMN THING SHE WAS AN OCEAN LINER NOT A CRUISE SHIP CRUISE LINERS ARENT A FUCKING THING GGRRRAAAAGGGGHHH
