〖Background〗
Childhood:
During the Great War, Lusa lived in a small village with her father and aunt. That changed when the Fire Navy came. They raided the village and captured the last three remaining waterbenders—her father was one of the few who survived. The village lay in ruins. With nowhere left to return to, Lusa’s aunt made the decision to leave. She and Lusa set out for the village known as Wolf Cove. Lusa was five years old at the time. She was a shy little girl, often clinging to her aunt’s side. But slowly, she began to open up—especially when it came to fishing and cooking fish dishes. It was something she used to do with her father, and it helped her feel close to him again. Two years later, Wolf Cove was attacked as well. Lusa hid beneath a pile of furs and hides, frozen with fear. No one found her until the following day—she’d been too frightened to move. After the raid, Lusa learnt that the chief's wife had been killed. A few days later, she summoned the courage to approach the chief’s children, inviting them to supper. Whether they accepted or not remains unclear, but it was the first time Ila had reached out to anyone on her own since the move.
