Well that didn't go as planned and I knew it in the first mile, I had a week off through sickness and I felt it in the legs early on. Also note to self; it's never a great idea to race hard while on antibiotics but all in all I was really happy with the time of 19:02 despite being 12 seconds slower than last year. Last night we took on the Bohermeen AC 5k in perfect conditions for running and I managed a personal best time of 18:42 and 3rd place in my age group, it was a very well organised event and the barbeque afterwards was to die for. A great evening at the Michelle McKiernan memorial 5k in Stamullen organised by Star of the Sea AC and there was some notable performances for Trim AC on the evening. Continuing her fine form was Helen Hartnett who won her age category tgus reversing the places from one week ago and Ciaran Tobin who came second in his age group. Trim AC ladies team of Helen, Laura Cotter, Ciara Delaney Stewart & Ulrike Strübing finished 2nd team as well and myself I picked up the win in my age category which made it two wins in 7 days.
