“You know, I’ve been meaning to ask you...Where the hell did you get the money for school text books and uniforms?”
He almost couldn’t believe the thought hadn’t popped into his head before, but then Ichigo was swiftly reminded of the weirdness that was his life, and the existence-threatening distractions that seemed to crop up every other day. School was rarely on his mind -- outside of scrambling to pass tests in the rare, calm hours of his life. Even with Rukia as a constant presence at school, Ichigo simply never thought to question the fact that she had a uniform and everything else she needed the very next day after they first met.
That stuff wasn’t cheap, after all, and there’s no way she has a job.
“I get somehow convincing the school that you’re normal, and your family moved here.” The words normal and family being sarcastically stressed. “But you still need money to keep up all that shit, right? How do you pull that off?”
He was curious, but would genuinely laugh his ass off if his first assumption of her being a robber was, in some way, correct.
“...You haven’t been robbing people and replacing their memories...have you?”
