So last night I had a dream. Admittedly, this was partially at fault, as i had just imagined the scene shortly before sleeping. Normally, I wouldn't share such a thing, especially on this kind of blog, but right now, it has a bit of significance.

So this is what happened:

Somehow, Epsilon!Aki had gotten into the castle. Jack isn't really sure how, but she did, and he finds out about this intrusion because she shoots an arrow into his chest. Angel arrows are soaked in holy water, so now he's on the ground with his chest dissolving and burning and he's a mess, begging for help of some kind. Daniel (PseudoJack) is there, too, and he moves to try and help Jack, but Aki aims an arrow at him and says that she'll kill him too if he touches the boy. After he stands, she beckons him to her side. He's forced to watch as Aki shoots another arrow into Jack, this one coated with fire. She leads Daniel around the castle as she sets fire to the place, forcing him to follow her. When they're outside the palace, she shoots Daniel in the chest as well, and leaves. Now, since Daniel is a robot, he's not dying, but he's still in pain.

A short moment later, Yuusei and his mother arrive and his mom starts putting out the flames in the castle, while the water cascade deals with the inferno outside. He and Yuusei go to find Jack, and they find him on the floor where he was left. Somehow, his hair is only scorched, but his skin is cracked and blackened, as is his clothing. Yet somehow, he's still alive.

At one point, I'd had this idea in which there's some sort of ceremony in which Epsilon!Jack has to perform (it may have been Ryusei's official crowning ceremony; I don't remember). But there's a high threat of him being shot by an angel, so Beta!Jack asks to swap places with his Epsilon counterpart. They don't tell anyone save for a few people that will be positioned to take care of the angels, should they arrive. Beta Jack and Dragan arrive at the ceremony, and when it actually begins, it's Ep!Jack that's standing at Dragan's side, rather than his spouse.

Beta!Jack walks down the isle, somewhat slowly. He glances worriedly off to the side, at Dragan, and it occurs to Dragan that it's his husband that's just passed him by. Still, though, Jack continues on, head held high, but his heart is racing.

But, it's not racing for long.

In an instant, an arrow pierces his spinal cord, and in a silent gasp, he collapses onto the floor. Dragan cries out and rushes to Jack's side. With a solemn expression, Epsilon!Jack gestures with his hand, and his own archers fire upon the angels that had infiltrated the building. The situation is soon taken care of and the ceremony resumes, this time with Epsilon!Jack taking his rightful place.

No king should have to traverse the halls of his grand home alone. That was his belief, and so it should remain.

But the king wouldn't have to walk alone. Not like him. The king had his lovely spouse at his side, wherever he was.

Jack was left alone.

Yuusei Fudo had passed some seven or eight years ago. He was a great king for his time, if not a little kooky. Atem helped with that, of course, ensuring to steer him in the right direction when his thoughts veered away from his initial goals. And Atem himself hadn't died much longer after the dear king, having been murdered not even an hour after Yuusei's decapitation.

Jack hadn't cared at the time. He hadn't wanted to care at the time. He had locked away his compassion for a reason. He'd driven himself to madness for a reason.

Hadn't he?

Kiryu had gone some weeks after their daughter, which made two more deaths that he hadn't initially mourned. Kiryu, oh, his beloved wife, had gone protecting him, and he hadn't given a damn. She and her child were so similar, and as such, they had such similar deaths. It was stupid, he believed, that they had to suffer so much, and he, so little.

Instead of looking after his dear Kiryu, when he knew she was ailing and weak, he mockingly guarded the corpse of his deceased daughter, their beloved child. Or, he at least believed it was out of mockery. He remembered the tears he shed for her, and the way that he curled up around her, to shield her from the world, but all too late, for she was gone. Maybe it wasn't so false a mourning, but he would never know.

"What's an 'Epsilon' character?" Simply put, an Epsilon character is a character from the Epsilon timeline of the LCAU. It's an alternate version of the 'original', or the Beta version.

Gender: Male

Age: Varies depending on the setting (usually ranges from 650s [as a child] to 2100s [present-LCAU time; adult]

Race: Chemical Dragon (the species itself is possibly related to a lich)

Parents: Probably Rudger and someone else???

Height: 3'1" (650-ish years old) 6'8" (2100+ years old)

Love interest: Crushed on Daniel for the time that he was in the Epsilon timeline; marries Ep!Kiryu and, after she dies, Ep!Carly.

Hobbies: He... doesn't really do much, to be honest. He's the god of Hell, if that counts for anything, and tries not to go insane while doing his job.

Positive personality traits: He's very caring when he's not lost his mind, and extremely protective of the ones that he loves. He's particularly cautious with his children around others, and has an overall excellent sense of judgement (eventually).

Negative personality traits: His lack of sanity distorts his 'vision' and ability to tell between right and wrong. As a result, most of his good qualities are viewed for the worse, because of how he uses them. He has a terrible temper, and while he can be very kind and considerate, it's not until his madness is dispelled that he gains a sense of compassion for others.

Weapon of choice: He usually uses his own special powers, which amount to acidic saliva, a variation of psychic-esque abilities, and lunatic eyes (he can also shapeshift into a dragon, but that doesn't really count). He'll use his fangs and claws if his opponent is close and soft enough. He also has two tails, and each tail has a sort of gun barrel fused to the ends (think Rattlesnake Jake).

Weak or strong physically: He's extremely strong, both physically and considering his powers. He's a god, after all.

Weak or strong mentally: Until he gets his ass kicked by the lovechildren, he's extremely mentally unstable, due to the strain given to him by his powers and because he's lost so much.

Selfish or selfless: He wavers between this fine line separating the two.

Wolf or sheep: Most definitely a wolf, though he was more sheepish as a kid.

Something my muse is good at: Doing his job, feeding people.

Something my muse is bad at: Doing his job, calculation portion sizes.

What my muse is described as mostly?: The sorrowful god

Why my muse is detested?: His insanity causes him to think irrationally, so he can be unnecessarily violent. Also he eats people. That could be a thing.

Good memory: All of his time with Daniel.

Bad memory: Daniel's death and when he tried to fix him, the death of his daughter, the death of his wife, the death of his parents, the angel raid, the death of his best friend and his friend's spouse, the receiving of his powers (because he received them before he was ready for them). And you wonder why he's insane.

Optimist, pessimist, realist, cynical or…: Pessimist, mostly, although he's also between a realist and cynical.
