This is a trap. This is so definitely a trap. He knows it’s a trap because Knock Out only ever uses “ tacky ” about himself if it’s a trap. Knock Out could never be tacky and Breakdown thinks he knows that, which is what makes this so clearly a trap.
Either Knock Out is looking for a specific answer, or he’s very much not looking for a specific answer, and Breakdown doesn’t actually know which it is, or what the specific answers are. It’s probably that he’s already made up his mind and is just looking for someone to tell him he’s right, but even that’s just a guess.
“ ... it’s not tacky. I like red, ” he finally settles on. And then very quickly adds in what will likely guarantee his safety. “ Besides, you look good in everything. Even if it was tacky, which it’s not, you’d make it look good. ”
