the war that saved my life starters ↬ accepting!

he was a fraction of a second too late. terra had initially left for radiant garden on master xehanort’s suggestion, searching for that boy in the mask -- vanitas. he was the one responsible for spreading unversed across all the worlds; his ill intent and incredible powers were a dangerous combination. terra had vowed to put an end to the chaos he was fueling. however...  a surprise attack lead to him being surrounded by the monsters, and with each he took down, another sprang in it’s place. they just kept coming. exhausted and worn down from the fight he’d just had with braig, he was getting sloppy. as he lunged forward, he took down one... two... three... and in the wake of a rather wide swing, he hadn’t realized one had crept up from behind. there was no time to defend himself. this could be bad —

and then in a flash, a familiar keyblade sliced through the air. ven. back to back, they stood at the ready. fighting alongside a friend was always preferable, and with the both of them, it was a much simpler task to dispose of the lingering enemies. as they struck down the last few, terra sighed in relief.   ❛ thanks.  ❜  he managed to breathe out, slightly bent at the hip as he struggled to calm his racing heart.  ❛ you always show up right on time.  ❜  a light smile graced his lips, and he nodded at ven’s subsequent words.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY DISNEY WORLD

❛ disney world, huh?  ❜   terra’s brow knit in faux contemplation, arms crossing over his chest. it had been a long time since they’d had any semblance of a vacation -- and the last time they all were there together, they'd quickly been fractured apart once again. they definitely earned a little while off, at the very least. he offered ven a smile, placing a hand lightly upon his shoulder.  

❛ huh...? oh, hey ven. was there something --  ❜  

his inquiry was cut short by a determined ‘ hmph ‘ as ven stood on his tiptoes, reaching for terra’s head. startled, a single uncertain step back is taken. hesitance was the initial response, though it subsided as he saw the pout ven brandished.  ❛ haha, okay, okay.  ❜  terra laughed as he dipped his head lower, to a level more within his friend’s reach. ❛ this better?  ❜  and with that, thin fingers pushed through his hair. 

BLOND BROTHER

SILENCE is the world around them, consuming, wholesome. There is a weight that hangs in the air like a pendulum from the clock of timelessness. There is darkness about this weight, swallowing it, as well as them, & hiding them from the light in which they’ve always searched for. It’s pointless now. The atmosphere is thick with exhaustion, sweat, a yearning for tears to flow from azure, from emerald, & yet they cannot. This is what they tell themselves. They cannot cry, for then who would they be, those who identify themselves solely as the very strength of others? Nothingness, like the feeling in their hearts, exposed, empty, forlorn. 

Toes curl in his boots, and grass tickles him through the fabric of his garments. He is seated against the softened strands of life & they are crushed beneath him, beneath them. He wishes to speak, but no words come out. What more loss can they bear ? He knows the feelings that bind themselves around her heart, a chain that squeezes & squeezes, ceaselessly pulling. Downward, downward. His heart sinks in the memories of his own, the knowledge of what eats at his mind & the guilt she bears for it. He knows, he understands, & while he has lost, he would overcome his fear to bring aid to another who will not let him.

The prince is gone, he has been slain.
