Chapter 1 of my Johnny Truant x Lude fic is out!

Summary: After being cut off from Thumper and recognising the slow diminishing of his lust for her, Johnny Truant begins to focus on a relationship he’s been blocking out.

Just take the final scene that we get of the two of them together, Johnny visits Lude in hospital. Johnny knows this is the last time he plans to ever see Lude. Lude is none the wiser and is already getting excited about the two of them going on a trip to Vegas with all the money Johnny knows he won’t get. And Johnny doesn’t have the heart to tell Lude that he won’t be going to Vegas, with or without him.

They talk and Johnny makes notes of tiny details in his recovery, like getting through a laugh without hacking up. We never really get to see much of the real bond between the two but I think here is the closest we get. Sure, Johnny’s been making out that Lude’s just a friend that he goes out to clubs with and gets high with but there’s no way he isn’t so much more to him. Lude is all Johnny has.

Johnny stays with Lude in the hospital until he falls asleep. Are we serious, this boy was in love.

And of course I can’t forget Johnny’s final act of love for his one and only friend. Going back to his apartment to give him $500. Johnny Truant, who is living on next to nothing at all, will go back to give Lude $500. He never plans to see Lude again. Lude is just a memory to him now. He didn’t have to do this at all but still he gives what is some of the last cash that he owns just on the off chance that maybe, just maybe, it’ll help Lude be okay.
