     ❛   𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬   𝐧𝐨𝐭   𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚   𝐛𝐞   𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲   𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞   𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 .   ❜      lucy’s  arrival,   as  glad  as  nicole  was  to   see  her,   had  been  completely   unexpected .    up  until  cait  had  shown  up  on  the  front  step  of  their  lonesome  alaskan  cabin  she  had  assumed  the  entire  sanders  family  was   good  as  dead .   her  twin  been  quiet  about  her  journey,   what  it  took  to  make  it  across  the  united  states  and  through  canada ;   spared  her  younger  sister  from   gruesome  details   of  what  she’d  had  to   do   to  be  reunited .   cait  told  her  about  lucy,   that  the   last  time  she  saw  her   she  was  still  alive  and   mostly   well .   their  parting  had   been  left  hazy,   nicole  asked  why  she  hadn’t  come  along  to   no  response .

     𝐈𝐓’𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐓 ...          almost impossible , really .         but he stands here now , besides the aunt that not even yesterday , he thought was dead .  it’s something that makes him both happy , and sad .      sad ,     because of the photo he and michonne had saved for judith’s sake when she was older .  sad ,     because in that photo was a little boy and a man he knew just as well as he knew the aunt beside him .     “ ...  lucy ... “   it’s a family photo he holds out to her , of a christmas dinner , all six of them together years ago .   

Those people out there, those strangers, aren’t their problem. And Philip has no intention of doing anything he doesn’t absolutely have to because that means putting his daughter and himself at RISK. Sometimes things are out of your hands, sometimes they aren’t, and whichever one this is Philip’s priority is Penny first and foremost. Because he may not have been able to do anything to save Sarah but can damn well save his DAUGHTER. That is in his control. And she is the most important thing in the world to him, has been since long before the outbreak.

Deanna was in charge—she seemed like a nice enough lady but she had no idea how the world worked outside of these walls. While the blonde was grateful to have a roof over her head and food in her belly—this place just wasn’t sitting right with her yet. 

      𝗶𝘁   𝘄𝗮𝘀   𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴   𝘁𝗼   𝗯𝗲   𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲,      𝗵𝗲   𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄   𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁,      𝘁𝗵𝗲   𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺   𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴   𝘁𝗵𝗲   𝗿𝘂𝗻   𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄   𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 .      but  the  woman  before  him  didn’t,   lucy  seemed  to  not  get   that  as  fact  into  her  brain .   her  worry  was   understandable   at  most,   going  out  beyond  the  walls  could  be  dangerous   no  matter  how  safe   you  think  it’ll  be,   but  this  was   different .   this  was  planned,   this  was  calculated,   they  were  ready  for  things  they   could  not   be  ready  for .   they’d  been  scouting  this  area  for   weeks   now,   he  was  well  aware  of  the  main  buildings  and  it’s  surroundings,   aware  of  the  dangers  and   obstacles   they  would  have  to  cross,   but  it  was  an   easy  job .   one  that  jeff  and  a  handful  of  others  could  get   in  and  out   of  easily  enough .   jeff  wasn’t  worried,   lucy  shouldn’t  be,   either .   ❛  you  got  it,   boss .   ❜   one  hand  catches  her  side,   pulls  her  in  to  his  chest  as  his  other  hand  raises  to  push  her  hair  back  out  of  her  face .   lips  press  against  hers,   gentle,   lingering  for   not  long  enough,   and  when  he   finally   pulls  away  he  presses  their  foreheads  together .   ❛   we’re  gonna  be   in  and  out,   i’ll  be   fine .   i  promise .   ❜
