Passive Aggressive 2 - a previous work by Lucy Beech and Edward Thomasson.
This is a favourite in the office at Site Gallery!
Liverpool Biennial has announced the participation of thirty-seven international artists in the 2016 Biennial festival of contemporary art, running from 9 July until 16 October.
Lucy Beech will be participating in the 2016 Liverpool Biennale - congratulations Lucy!
We’re really looking forward to finding out more about Lucy and Edward’s #Platform project this Saturday and the Platform Study Day, which will give a great insight into their project ideas. Sheffield bakery Forge Bakehouse will be providing some delicious treats for brunch - thanks to Martha at Forge for your help with this.
Screening and talk
Forthcoming Platform 2015-16 artists in residence Lucy Beech and Edward Thomasson are screening a selection of their most recent video works at Tate Britain on Monday 18 May. Afterwards they will be discussing their practices with writer Johnathan P. Watts.
“Working independently and collaboratively, their work explores what constitutes performance outside conventional theatrical environments.”
Lucy Beech: Me and Mine
Me and Mine by Lucy Beech, one of our forthcoming Platform artists in residence for 2015-16, is now open at the Harris Museum, Preston, and then at The Tetley, Leeds from 17 July. “Loosely based on real events, Beech constructs an interpersonal drama that explores how so-called feminine ‘virtues’ such as empathy and relationality have been used to rebrand historically male dominated professions.”
Lucy will be developing a new project at Site Gallery in collaboration with Edward Thomason - more details soon.
