Event Masterlist About The Event
Notes: thank you! I made this a modern-high school au since idk there was something about Luck being on the track team that I liked lol but I hope you like it!
Characters involved: Luck Voltia
Gender-neutral reader, you/yours
You both meet in high school.
He's the golden boy of your grade; the one who everyone seemed to like regardless of their status or aesthetic.
There's just something about his smiles and charm that had the whole school revolving around Luck like mere planets to his sun.
Everyone fell for his good boy who's perfect and always happy front, but not you. You could see the way his perfect smile would crack and hear the heavy sighs he would often let out after days spent laughing and pretending to be constantly happy.
It wasn't all fake. You knew Luck was actually one of the few people who were almost always optimistic.
He just had his moments too, but no one else seemed to realise that.
Your concerns for the situation and his mental health had been quickly shot down by those around you, and you were almost ready to move on from your speculations until one day after school when Luck himself was leaning against your locker waiting to talk to you.
You thought he would be mad you were ruining his reputation or something, but he had really just been relieved in a way that was sadder than anything else.
The two of you had quickly grown close to one another. So much so that you had been labelled as the sun and moon of your high school.
He was the cheerful golden retriever of a friend, and you were the realistic yet caring black cat who was always there for him but never showed it.
It started with the two of you sending each other memes and relatable videos on social media and ranting about your lives but pretending not to know each other in school to being suddenly hugged from the back in the middle of the hallway as a familiar giggle floated to your ears.
The physical affection had certainly taken some time to get used to, but you had eventually come to appreciate Luck's touch, even missing it on the days when life got a little too overwhelming.
He would stay back after school with you on the days you had your clubs and you would watch all of his races and tease him about how serious he was as track captain.
Nobody cared much about your friendship, if anything, they seemed happy the two people who were always friends with everyone but never really anyone's favourite had found each other.
Until you realized you had gotten a little too happy.
Until his touches started leaving a hot trail across your skin as you squirmed in a way that was more endearing than annoyed. Until you started showing up to his races because you wanted to, not because he would drag you to them and force Magna to watch over you.
You had fallen for Luck Voltia. And surprisingly, he had fallen for you too.
At first, the two of you were stupid enough to avoid each other and start to grow distant, but that was quickly fixed by a little intervention from your friends.
Dating Luck was certainly an adventure.
He was always so cute and cuddly; constantly seeking your touch and affirmation throughout the day to the point where you had gotten used to almost constantly holding his hand in school.
But his touches were always so sweet in a way that was nothing like the perverted lingering touch of the average teenage boy. For he always sought out affection and not an out to satisfy his lust.
He loved doing all the cliche things others would find cringy, like making you wear his track jacket or 'dedicating' a race to you, which really just meant he screamed out your name saying he would win against Magna for you.
But there were also the mellow days when he would rest against your shoulder and silently watch you get lost in your studies and hobbies as he tried to use your company to escape his life for a bit.
Spontaneity was a big part of your relationship and you often found yourself being awoken by your ringtone and the sound of an excited Luck ready to drag you to a new place he found at ungodly hours.
He never talked much about his family or what he wanted to do in the future, choosing to ignore everything but the present.
Some might have called it escapism, but you saw it as living in the moment; something you wished you could allow yourself to do rather than stressing over the expectations every teenager is weighed down by.
Most might have thought it was you who would support Luck, but none of them saw the way he would so willingly take care of you. How he would remind you of the smallest things like eating and sleeping.
How Luck was your rock in the storm of your life.
The two of you were perfect for each other in a way high school romances could never be. And as you graduated together, you couldn't help but hope that your bond would continue even past your teenage years.
