The Cold War Lore

Perseus' niece, Irina Vlasenko, is betrayed and found by the CIA. She's brainwashed and given the codename Bell. It goes mostly(?) the same as canon, but:

During her time there, Bell meets a CIA agent named Lucero Vásquez. Lucero works behind Adler’s back to help Bell regain her memories.

Bell doesn't save Park or Lazar. Later on, she kills the rest of Adler’s team too.

"But wait, what about the nukes?" WELL. They were going to set them off, but Perseus eventually decides not to due to his niece's recovery now being his top priority (and because Bell probably asked him not to blow up Europe. She has some morals lmao). Instead, the nukes are kept as a way to keep the enemies at bay. (Perseus later loses access to them; not sure how)

Bell regains her memories shortly before... well, the Duga ending is picked. She shoots Adler with zero hesitation, then reunites with her uncle. Lucero joins as well.

Later, both women join the Ultranationalists and later the Inner Circle.

The Modern Warfare Lore

Some basic backstory first: Yuri and Vladimir meet in prison. Yuri's already a member of the Ultranationalists, and a week or so later they're both bailed out by Imran Zakhaev—as well as Daria Makarova, Vladimir's mom. She and Imran go way back and start dating again after Daria divorces Andrei, Vladimir's father. Then in 2000, Sasha is born to Vladimir and Yuri. Trans rights. (Might get around to her lore at some point.) NOW. It's mostly the same as canon, but:

Yuri doesn't actually care too much about the events of Shock and Awe. He just feels bad about their own soldiers and any civilians caught in the crossfire. In the cover story, Yuri lies and says he's horrified by everything. (He also skips mentioning that he's gay because Price is... an asshole)

No Russian goes mostly the same, except because Yuri still doesn't want to kill civilians, he and Vladimir make a compromise: Yuri instead will infiltrate the 141 and they'll pretend it's because Yuri can't do the whole terrorist thing anymore. Vladimir does not actually shoot Yuri; they enlist the help of Vera Kameneva, Vladimir's twin sister, to fake Yuri's injuries. Then, Yuri's on his way.

Vladimir does not handle the separation well.

And at Prague, Vladimir can't help a little worry and care being shown. Yuri knows about the bomb, and Vladimir's line to him instead is "three seconds, Yura" in a surprisingly soft voice. Soap asks what the hell Kingfish is talking about, and Yuri shoves him off the tower in time with the explosion.

Soap unfortunately lives and goes into a coma. Yuri tells Price the cover story, who believes it. Thankfully. It goes basically the same as the game from here on...

But Yuri and Vladimir actually planned Dust to Dust together. Vladimir was to run and lead Price to a second location where they'd kill Price together, but Price crashes the helicopter. Vladimir lives ofc and goes to shoot Price, but his hand is shaking too badly and he misses. Just as Price is about to attack Vladimir, Yuri shoots him in the spine and reveals that he was a double agent this whole time. Vladimir leans closer to Price so he doesn't miss this time.

Yuri and Vladimir are then rescued and go to safehouse where their daughter is staying <3

What Happens Next?

WELL LEMME TELL YA. After recovering and laying low for a while, the Inner Circle plots a raid and a coup d'état to overthrow Vorshevsky. It succeeds because I say so. Since Vladimir's kind of had enough of making decisions and just wants to stay with Yuri and Sasha now, Bell is put in charge. (Vlad still has some power and probably kills people like once a week bc he's. like that.) They also legalize gay marriage and LGBTQ rights as their first action so Vladimir and Yuri can get officially married after like 20 years. Bell and Lucero get married too <3 anyway, since Bell is a strong believer in human rights and trying to improve the quality of life while Vladimir's off killing everyone who was ever mean to him on alternating Tuesdays /half-joking, one of the biggest questions in-universe is whether or not it's a good place to live afterwards. Nobody has a unanimous answer.

Anyway, Soap wakes up from the coma a few years later and finds everyone but Langley and Nikolai have left the 141 and also that Price is dead. He becomes even worse, abusing Langley further and hell-bent on murdering the evil husbands.

Unsure of the specifics leading up to it (as of this writing), but Langley is later murdered by Sasha. Sasha believes Langley endorsed Soap’s abuse of Yuri, and while Langley didn't like Yuri that much, she didn't agree with Soap using Yuri. But Langley doesn't get time to explain this, because Sasha lights her on fire shortly afterwards.
