5 cliche things people tell you not to do in Paris you should definitely DO as first-timers 🇫🇷: ⠀ I know tourist traps, big crowds, and long lines can discourage you from doing big, major attractions in popular destinations, but do your research and embrace the cliche! ⠀ 1️⃣Climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower ☁️ - You hear it all the time: "Do not go to the top of the Eiffel Tower!" But, boy, are people wrong. The whole experience was amazing and the views are breathtaking! If possible, book your tickets in advance because the lines could be really long. If you didn’t purchase tickets in advance, make sure to look around and not follow the crowd. We started making the line to purchase our tickets and Los realized that behind us there was another booth with absolutely no one there! ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣Eat croissants 🥐 - While planning our trip, we read over and over "do not eat croissants in Paris". Really. Really? The reason behind this statement is that “Parisians don't eat croissants, tourists do.” Parisians DO eat croissants, just not as often as we think they do. A delicious croissant with some butter and jelly. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. ⠀ 3️⃣Go shopping at Galeries Lafayette 🛍 - we had no intention of going shopping at all, but we did find ourselves venturing around this place. Probably the coolest mall we’ve ever been to. ⠀ 4️⃣Have a picnic at Champ de Mars 🧺 - a picnic with the view of the Eiffel Tower is always a great idea! Such a beautiful and romantic view. The best time to go is either for breakfast or in the evening. ⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣Eat at the Latin Quarter🥘- people call the Latin Quarter a tourist trap and some advise to never eat here. We had the complete opposite experience. We ate at a Greek restaurant there for 11 euros a plate for dinner and it was delicious.
