Late to the Warrior Whump party but here are my contributions.
Clockwise from the top left:
1. Scene from Hyrule Warriors. In the game you play Ganondorf for certain chapters and defeat Zelda and Link. This is post Link’s defeat.
2. Based on a scene from Whumptober Day Fourteen: Hunting Gear by @jinxedruby It’s a lovely fic and a great chapter!
3. Scene from the 1st chapter of a fic titled Hunting Foxes by @elle-rosewater . The is currently private but Elle is a fantastic writer so go support their work!
4. Both a—long overdue—ask response for @arecaceae175 of Warriors crying and being comforted by Mask AND loosely inspired by the fic Shades of Blue by @queenofmoons67 . I emphasize loosely as this scene DOES NOT happen in the fic but I was reading Shades of Blue while drawing this so I had to give it a shout at as an awesome fic.
That's right, my mind now thinks on the Eras Trio jkasjkaskj And before I go back to do even more homework (almost there, just a week more and I'm free), I want to post these little doodles I made jsjs
Inspired by this heartbreaking art by ghosthoard!!!
When I started to like the idea of Wind being on HW post-LU I liked to imagine him being the same age as Wars but being a more experienced hero. He went from the youngest brother to the oldest and of course, that's something he takes advantage of xD
Wind being the tallest of all of the heroes when he grows up my beloved.
On HW he wears his green tunic so I gave him a sailor shirt and a green vest. He repurposed the green hat but also his blue tunic so now he makes reference to his green tunic and keeps wearing his blue one. Also his hair is inspired on his hair on WW, have you seen how long his hair is without the hat???
Wind teased Mask so much and I know he's the one he teased the most xD Mask almost never annoyed Tune. Tune always knew how to deal with Mask and that made him mad, besides, the captain made more reactions xD
⚠️blood and main character death and bad quality video⚠️

GET FANJOYJULY'D @elle-rosewater!!!
The politics! The humor! The brotherhood! The emotions! The intrigue! The magic! The misunderstandings! THE ANGST HITS THE SPOT! ELLE WRITES SO GOOD!
this fic is the epitome of: *slaps warriors* this guy can fit a so much trauma in him!
damn does this fic make me want to shake Warriors about so his sense of self-worth gets knocked into place
thank you for sharing the fic, elle!
(It’s 3 in the AM for me and I wanted to schedule this post for the morning which means I can’t think properly so I might add some stuff later)
I need more LU fics where Time somehow reverts back to Mask. Wars and Wind are just like ??? Because one moment their strong and stoic leader is in front of them and the next there's THE annoying 10-12 yr old child who looks just about as angry as a wet street kitty.
Optional bits for bonus points;
Time still acts like he normally does he's just now a child and everybody has problems trying to listen to him and starts babying him like they do to Wind sometimes
(Alternatively) Time takes advantage of the change to just be a little shit and acts like the reversion also sent his mind back when he actually just needs a break
Twilight attempts to snuggle Lil Time to death
Time kinda doesn't want to go back to being a responsible adult at the end because he missed being a little gremlin child
Lil man offers to take night watch and everyone refuses to let him do it
Wild & Time causing chaos.
I've never really messed with Time and Mask nor looked into the lore but I think the War of Eras trio is so funny- the one fic like this that I read got me hooked

ayo why are these kids at the war field and why do they look kinda menacing
You know those "human weapon" Warriors fics?
Where like Wars is trained to only follow orders in the army without question, or he's a sword spirit specifically made for certain war related things? And he finds his own sentience and has to learn that he can in fact make his own choices?
What if
That, but Warriors is like a magical construct made to serve the Royal Family? He starts to gain his sentience during the War of Eras when Tune and Mask are left alone with him one too many times. The kids help him to say "no" to things that aren't fair, and to choose his favorite color and the commanding officers hate it!!
Their perfect soldier is "defecting" and there's nothing they can do about it because the Princess is missing and magic users are busy fighting in the war to fix such a small thing.
Only when Zelda comes back, she's already seen all the progress made by Wars and Tune and Mask as Sheik! Heck- as Sheik, she had encouraged it, pushed the limits of how far Warriors could go without direct orders or by finding loopholes or even outright breaking rules!
Zelda is all for it.
Option to make it angsty because why not: It all gets temporarily undone whenever Wars is aware that there is royalty in the room with him.
He could be sentient with Sheik, but not Zelda. They think it's because his primary directive was to protect the royal family. That directive is stronger than any other order or whim or want because it was the thing he was made to do!
Mayhaps they figure this out before the "Zelda and Sheik are the same person" reveal. Maybe Wars knows Sheik as their own person too much to ever see Sheik as Zelda, so it's harder to be himself around Sheik, but not nearly as impossible as it is around Zelda.
He thought it would be fine on the LU quest...
Like- sure, there would be the occasional visit to someone or another's castle and they meet the Zelda that lives there. But Time and Wind are right there with him to distract the others from seeing the stiff posture and blank face. It helps that the Zeldas of other Eras don't typically give out direct orders to the Chain, much less specifically to Warriors!
Until they reach Legend's time.
Maybe Legend spills the secret on his own. Maybe Fable calls him her brother. Maybe a knight or servant calls him "prince."
It doesn't matter. Wars now knows for a fact that Legend is of the Royal Family. And. He can't. Do anything. Nothing without Legend explicitly saying he 'has to.' Legend can't even say "if you want, you can do this" it has to be a direct order to get Wars to do anything, from take care of himself to battle an enemy.
Legend hates it.
Warriors hates it.
They all hate it!
Wars wants to tease Legend the way he did 2 hours ago. He wants to call him stupid for blaming himself for being born royalty. Wars knows that if he had mentioned this tidbit about himself that Legend would have done everything in his power to keep his lineage a secret.
Legend wants to be able to tell Wars to "Get lost" without him listening to him! (That specific instance cause high panic amongst the Chain as it took hours for Twilight, Wild, and Hyrule to finally find the Captain! But don't blame Legend too much for saying such a thing- he had temporarily forgotten the situation, and felt the presence of a knight looming over his shoulder after a long day [worrying about his friend].)
Wars knows that it isn't likely for him to be able to act normal around Legend again.
But Wind won't take that.
Wind was there when the Captain had started to gain sentience. He knew all the buttons to push to get a real reaction from his brother. Time did too. He just needed a push of his own to get his Old Man brain to remember.
So Wind takes it upon himself to find every loophole in everything Legend says to or around Wars.
Example:
Legend: Wild made breakfast, eat some.
Wind, holding a cookie Wild made the night before: He didn't say what counted as brekfast!
Legend of course catches on, and starts forming his sentences to Warriors to have as much wiggle room as possible while still being considered coherent.
Wars is slowly coming back to himself.
Maybe it ends with Wars being able to say "no" directly to something Legend says. Maybe the Chain go to Wars' castle to see Artemis and she tells him to rise from his bowed/kneeling position after he greets her. Only for him to look up at her with a smile and say "No."
Maybe that's one of the best days of her life, and she smiles so big because her friend/lover/whatever you want them to be has finally passed that last hurdle of becoming his own person. No matter what the stupid commanders and noblemen think or say, Wars is his own person now, and he's going to get a big hug from the normally composed Queen of Hyrule because he defied a direct order.
"It's okay, don't cry. I know you'll see me again someday."
