THANK YOU V-
ok sorry to disappoint but woops its self indulgent ok lets go- So when Techno and Neb arrived in the overworld they were already pretty beat up. So Neb didn’t really notice that anything was too off and too out of the ordinary with Techno at first. They just hurried to build a shelter, a home, and began to gather any materials they could. A day passed and she noticed the fatigue was still there. She asked what was wrong but he only brushed the question off with an “I’m fine.”
The third day is when she started to get really concerned. She could see the fatigue and sluggishness in his red eyes and he was hot to the touch, a really bad fever. She hadn’t read about anything of the sort in the bastion’s library so she was very confused to say the least. Despite Techno’s protests she sent him to bed early and left the house. An hour or so of flying took her to a village. She asked around in a sort of broken common for answers. She found one in a cleric’s home. The man there told her that those from the Nether did not do well in the overworld, shortly becoming an undead version of themselves days after arrival. And Techno was already three days into this process so she was really on a time crunch.
To heal Techno would require many, many things. It had only been accomplished a very very few times so the cleric did not have a lot of answers on the how to fix this, only the why it was happening. But the man did point her in the direction of a cartographer who could help. After lots of discussing and bartering she was able to acquire a map to a woodland mansion. It would be a risk but it would be worth it to save her friend.
While the nether was the fastest way to travel to this place, she wasn’t ready to go back so soon. So off she flew in the direction of the mansion. It took a full night to get there and she saw the building at the break of dawn. She stormed the mansion and killed the evokers without a second thought. Two totems dropped from the bodies which was more than enough. While searching the chests, luck seemed to be with her as an enchanted golden apple was found in the bottom of one among other less useful things. She took the items home as soon as possible.
After that she was set on saving her friend. With the few blaze rods she took from the bastion, Neb crafted a brewing stand. Her skills in alchemy were mediocre at best but that didn’t stop her from doing everything she could to try and make the strongest healing and regeneration potions she could. Several, actually. It was day four now and Neb was split between caring for a quickly worsening Techno and trying to do what she could to save him. But it was getting close to the quick.
On the night of the fourth day Neb set to work. It would take close to all night to do this, but she had to or else Techno would be lost. And no way was she letting that happen. Her first course of action was melting down one of the totems into molten liquid via a very, very hot furnace. It was a risk but she had to try at least. The liquid was poured into a bottle she made earlier. It cracked only a little bit from the heat but it still held. Quickly then she added the two potions and the juice from the enchanted golden apple as well. Doubt that this would work was making her bones itch but there was no time. The clock was ticking and she could not spare a minute to worry.
Hurriedly she took the bottle up to Techno and asked him to drink it, but he was hesitant as it was unfamiliar. Neb asked him to trust her, and he reluctantly agreed. He drank the concoction and coughed a bit as it stung his throat. A few seconds passed in silence and Neb began to worry that it didn’t work. As soon as she went to speak, the room was suddenly filled with light and the toll of a deep bell crashed in from all sides. She closed her eyes to the light as the force of something knocked her back into the wall. Sparks from the impact of her head against the wood and the sound of cracking sparks from whatever had just happened collided and really didn’t help how badly her head was swimming. A few moments later as the ruckus died down she opened her eyes again.
And there was Techno up on his feet, looking at his hands with wonder. He told Neb that he felt fine, great all of the sudden. All the sick had just gone away, like that. Neb, though a killer headache, smiled at him and quietly thanked all her lucky stars that it worked. The days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months. She noticed that while fighting mobs or in any dangerous situation he seemed to always come out unharmed. While he was a great warrior, that in itself was almost peculiar.
And one day months later after the incident, she noticed something else quite peculiar. Did his eyes always hold flecks of gold and emerald?
