What are Management Thinking Mistakes?

Thinking Mistakes are defects in our thinking process that weaken our aim to find the best solution. By learning to recognize common known fallacies, biases and effects; we can avoid using them in the context of a meeting or decision making. At the same time we can also learn to recognize them when used by others. The goal of this app is giving you a tool in hands right at the time and place of need to avoid all those thinking traps and therefore make you stronger in your decisions and prepare you for your next meetings.

A steady growing list and visual of the most common thinking mistakes, fallacies, biases and effects with definitions, origin, links, samples and special WIB tips

You yourself can help us to complete the database and submit your own “favorite” mistake and you will be credited within the App.

INNOVATIVE SEARCH AND TOOL RIGHT BEFORE YOUR NEXT IMPORTANT DECISION TAKING

An innovative search, which can be applied right before your next meeting. Just turn the wheel and select what kind of meeting you will join (open up, new ideas, criticize, finalize a project) and the App will list the most common thinking mistakes you may be facing.

THE FACTS AND STORY BEHIND

Computer Power combined with huge amounts of Data were thought to transform the “Art of Management” to become more of a “Science of Management”.

To make the right decision is more difficult than ever we all painfully experienced in the last few years, it did not completely work. Finance, Insurance even whole Economics failed in spite of sophisticated decision models and huge amounts of calculated data.

As the recession and failures spread-out, it may give an impression that all those highly sophisticated models have failed. But as always with extremes, it would be similar wrong, to advise now all managers to do a 180 degree turn around and make all their decisions only on the basic of their gut instinct.

This App as we believe helps every decision maker to do just that. It gives you a mobile collection of the most common and as well newer fallacies, bias and effects and explains them, shows samples, gives references for deeper research and supports the message through a catchy visual.

You can filter those thinking errors by situation and objective as well as build your own shortlist with your “favorites”. And for each of the mistakes the App will suggest management tools which will support you in avoiding those thinking errors.
