dean's exhausted. and hurt. he's trying to let the first show long before the second starts to catch up with him and become obvious. there's bruises lining ribs that make him feel like he's suffocating. his fucked knee is banged up doing a number on his ability to grit his teeth and fake it. add in a rather nasty slice along the back of his opposite calf? one blood's been threatening to start oozing, again, out of the opening ever since they started walking? god damn it, he just got it tied off and made it stop bleeding. he's (...) this close to admitting defeat and asking for the other to slow down. his bones are dragging.

one bloody knuckled hand slams down on the tree trunk he stops and leans against. his confession comes out bitterly. through a mouthful of frustration, teeth bared in a grimace right after. was it the taste of saying that out loud? or another shock of pain through his system? BOTH. and the reaction he gets? green eyes only lift slightly from where his head's bowed with deep breaths being drawn in. the look on his face says it all oh fuck off. his eyes widen as he's pulled into her arms. they glance towards the shadowed wings as they spread. and he slams his mouth closed to stop himself from saying a word. last thing he wants is to end up falling from wherever the hell high they're about to be.
