as a rower, i don’t understand why dark academia people are so obsessed with rowing. is it because it’s an old sport? an ivy league sport? an expensive sport?
as much as it is all of those things it’s really really unglamorous. this goes out to all writers btw, if someone does rowing they’re not gonna have ANY time for anything other than rowing. life is rowing and rowing is life. you can’t join a secret organization AND row.
you know like i don’t even know why i bother upkeeping a christmas/birthday wishlist at this point because even the people with zero wishlist input who say “idk” when asked what they want for christmas got some actual gifts instead of JUST gift cards yet here I am with a whole ass list of stuff for ppl to pick from with.. gift cards! Which like is fine I guess but it does give one the feeling that ZERO effort was applied when literally all they had to do was look at my wishlist and pick a couple things that added up to the dollar amount they wanted to spend.
i know its a dumb thing to be even remotely upset about but I guess I just miss feeling like someone puts some care into my gifts, y’know? Like I would even understand if it had been overall just “not as much thought got put into everyone this year” because like, it’s THIS YEAR but no.. I’m the only one who got nothing but gift cards.

So I was definitely going to talk to a friend to see if they were interested in doing judo classes together, or something along those lines because I need to work out and I'm never going to stay motivated by myself. Anyway, that was the plan, but things went horribly awry and I now find myself in a bit of a depressed slump, questioning whether or not I actually have any friends at all. Go me.
