Well, this man sure has a lot of love and gifts to give. Lyuben got a new bike because he had outgrown his former one, Nad got a pretty set of matching earrings and necklace, Lief got a wonderbox to go have a nice dinner somewhere with Astrid, and Pepper got a couple of good books. It’s nothing very revolutionnary or original, but he knows they all liked their presents anyway. Ah, and he was the one who paid for the comic book Lyuben got for Dit’s birthday.

That would be a very hard choice for him to make. He would probably try to see at least the big cats, lions, tigers, etc, but also the giraffes, and the pretty birds (mainly because I can picture Nad liking pretty birds and he woul do his best to please her). He could definitely skip the reptiles, though. I think it’s good to keep in mind that most zoos made him kinda sad though, because most of the time the animals don’t really have much space, and life closed up like that must be kinda dull.

20. Role Model: His first piano teacher.

I don’t think he would, not in serious or regular way, at least. He knows the value of money and wouldn’t risk losing big sums of it, which he would if he gambled on something he’s not an expert on, and between music, his wife and his kid he doesn’t really have tome for it. he wouldn’t even make a good poker player, because most of the time he’s an open book; whenever he plays with pepper and Lief for fun, he’s always the first one to go bankrupt, which doesn’t stop him from enjoying himself, of course, but he knows that playing real money with strangers would be very dangerous. It happens that he buys some scratch tickets when he feels particularly lucky though; he’s won once or twice, and spoiled Nad with his gains.

I sadly do not know enough about mythologies other than Greek, so do not take this as an absolute answer because I am sure that maybe some would fit him as well. But as far as I know, I guess figures like Apollo or Orpheus would fit him very well. Orpheus even more than Apollo, perhaps, because Lovrenko would not really be the kind to chase nymphs and more likely to go get Nad back from Hades. Though it’s her who would have to go fetch him. Would that make him closer to Eurydice? Maybe. Who knows. But yeah, globally, Orpheus and his music and his love for his wike seem a very good representation of Lovrenko to me.

His family was never really rich to begin with, so he knows how it is to be quite poor, and even though his situation got better (mostly because Nad’s family was rather rich, let’s be honest here), he kept a very strong empathy for people who did not have as much luck as he did, and he’s willing to do what he can to help when possible. Like, if you need a musician willing to work for free for a charity event, he’s your man. However, even though he has no disdain for people who struggle, and will be the first one to claim that the myth of the “lazy poor” is precisely just a myth, he would hate to lose the financial ease that he’s won, precisely because he knows the stuggles of not having enough money to cover all of your basic needs and he doesn’t want that for his wife and children. he wants them to have a great life, far from all these struggles. So he would probably just do whatever he can to get them out of this situation and back on their feet again.

I’d say her first date with Lovrenko (obviously) (those two are each other’s first and only love anyway). It was both adorable and almost a fiasco, bcause Lovrenko was very stressed -he had finally asked her out!- (or maybe she did because he was taking too much time. I like that headcanon). He made blunder after blunder, but he was so adorable that she could only pretend to be mad at him. Like, maybe they went to the cinema and Lovrenko chose a terrible movie, spilled the pop-corn trying to take her hand... That kind of stuff. And when the moment came to say goodbye, he thought he had screwed it all and that he was doomed, but she kissed him and they’ve been together ever since.

Reporter: So, Mr Zelenka, Lyuben told us that you’re a musician. What instrument do you play? And what do you do exactly? Lovrenko: I play the piano in the town’s orchestra. I also occasionnally record some solo albums, and play them across the country. Rep: You must travel a lot then! Doesn’t it bother you sometimes to be far from home? Lov: I don’t really mind, actually. Of course, I miss Lyuben and his mother a lot, but I travelled a lot with my parents when I was young, so I’m used to being on the road. Rep: Oh, right, Lyuben told us that you were not born in France. Where are you from, Mr Zelenka? And how did you arrive in France? Lov: I was born in the Czech Republic, but my family is Romani. When I was about nine, we stopped for a while in a town where started taking piano lessons -I had learned a bit of it with my uncle, but this time it was real lessons. They had a partnership with a school here in France, and since I was one of their best students I got a proposition to come and study here with a little scolarship when I was 11. I’ve lived here ever since. Of course, I go back to see my family as often as I can. Rep: Thank you Mr Zelenka! That was our last question. Is there anything you want to add? Lov: He’s going to kill me if you actually publish that, but I have a message for my son. I love you very very much, Lyuben, but please, don’t make your mom mad when I’m not home. After that she passes her nerves on me.
