I UNDERSTAND NOT LIKING TATTOO BUT?? SUNWOO'S RAP??? IS SO COOL???? ๐
there needs to be a cut bc im gonna start ranting sdkjfkjdfh
๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ I WISH I COULD LIKE IT DKJFHDJKFH its just so different from his usual style. its so aggressive and his flow is different from usual :( i think i personally like it less because i fell in love with sunoo due to his rap verses (specifically his 4ever verse was the first instance i started goingย ๐๐) and if you listen to that verse,,,, well,,,, it is very different LOLย
when sunwoo raps and writes his flows he tends to drag out or emphasize certain syllables. some good examples of this are his 4ever part (around 0:24 in the song), his melting heart verse (2:03, his lyric writing in this verse is probably one of his best. the lyrics are just... so good, everyone should read the translation for this one!), his LOU verse (0:31), and most obviously his complete me verse (1:14, actually all his verses in complete me, he has many). He does this push and pull thing with his pronunciation (drag? is that a better word idk).
its either that or he plays hard with rhythm, specifically with faster rap. examples of this are his lupin (tbz cover) verse (its at the very beginning), his reveal verse (1:19), his giddy up verse (only his most legendary verse ever, its a masterpiece. it has to be his best written verse up to date i swear), and his DDD verse.ย
If you havent noticed, sunwoo tends to write faster, more exciting verses for the title tracks. I think this is extremely smart on his part as he usually only gets one verse to shine in title tracks and he completely takes the stage and makes you focus on him. Even if his verses are short he is able to draw all attention to him. I always anticipate his title track verses so much because i know they will hit hard. He then really brings it back in the side bโs and lets a slower, more dynamic flow take over (rather than a high bpm rap verse) and the contrast is just insane
the reason why Tattoo is just such a different realm is because well, it doesnt really follow the two above styles he usually hold. The energy is high from the beginning whereas he usually builds up energy or he fluctuates from high to low energy by playing with syllable length. tattoo just feels very monotone to me and the hype almost screaming rap just isnt for me. the rhythm is the most interesting part but even that falls short to what he has prodiced in the past
Anyways, negatives aside, its insane how he can have two different styles yet both are so unique to him. He makes it obvious when hes rapping and he does it with style.ย
