"The Beauty Is"
This morning as I was reflecting on our kalos (beautiful) journey and a song lyric came to mind:
"And the beauty is, when you realize, when you realize,
Someone could be looking for a someone like you."

As I thought about this quote: I was thinking about how when we begin to look and identify beauty in our lives; often we find ourselves actually wanting to be seen/noticed/recognized/realized.
In regards to this thought of learning about Jesus' beauty; I think we really crave to be called beautiful (or for you gents, perhaps you would prefer handsome), to be regarded by the other, to be realized a human and your role in life. We desire affirmation and we desire the goodness of others to be shared with us.
Understanding this idea of how we are looking not only to see but to be seen, we can realize this can change everything, in particular when it comes to reading the Bible. Think about: "Keep me as the apple of the eye.." (Psalm 17.8) ESV or even "We love because he first loved us." (1 Jn. 4.19). We long to see beauty, but we also long to be beautiful.
I wonder if when we call something beautiful; it is because we recognize something that we find inherently wonderful about ourselves? Or maybe more rightly, about Jesus?
