toga catches you alone with your boy and of course - she just has to snap a pic! after all, if not her, who else? it's a good thing, seeing you two all soft together, and good things are meant to be shared so-
...yeah, that notification definitely came from the groupchat.
"can't believe toga caught me acting like this with you," he groans into your shoulder with his arms tightly wrapped around your waist. "that little brat..."
his ears flush red when you let out that little laugh he loves so much, further hiding his face deeper into the crook of your neck.
"c'mon, you don't have to hide now. they're gone, aren't they?" he stays silent, contemplating his next move. then, tightening his embrace, he tilts his head to press soft kisses along your neck, hands slipping under your shirt. pulling back just slightly, he locks his gaze onto yours - dazed, lovestruck, voice low as he murmurs;
"...yeah. only us now." and then he closes the distance, his lips meeting yours in a tender kiss that slowly deepens, melting into something more desperate.
you blink twice at his question, looking down at him as he lays on top of you, his face resting between your ribs. shaking your head, your hands find their way to his hair, toying with the spiky strands of black.
"nope," you assure him with a smile. still skeptical, he keeps an eye on you as you follow up with an explanation. "you feel like a weighted blanket to me. warm and grounding."
he doesn't react at first, though it's clear he didn't agree with your words. instead, he buries his face deeper against you, hiding the faintest smile tugging at his lips.
"even if I did crush you, you’d still keep me here, wouldn’t you?"
"guess i'm not moving anytime soon."
reading the last few messages in the group chat, you can't help but throw a look of disapproval at him. he notices, but pretends otherwise, kicking at stray pebbles off as both of you continue the walk back home.
"you need to stand up for yourself, shuichi." he flinches at the call-out, eyes darting up with a guilty look.
"i know, but it's not that bad. look, i even managed to grab you those snacks you've been craving-" you tighten your grip on his clawed hand, shaking your head firmly. his shoulders slump in defeat, thinking you were disappointed at him for being a pushover. but then, you stop walking and turn to face him, thumb brushing gently over the scales on the back of his hand. "i...i'm sorry." he lowers his head, but you gently catch his chin, guiding him to look at you again.
"you did nothing wrong. i know you just wanted to make me happy-" your voice grows softer as you gather the courage to whisper the truth, gaze flickering to the ground, "-but i hope you realize i already am, just by being with you."
the guilt in his eyes slowly fades, and then - he offers a sheepish smile, as if it should've been obvious from the start.
"yeah...dunno why i didn't see that. thank you, y/n - for everything."
final comments: haha. put in way too much effort to spinner's part, but it's okay because he deserves it.
