Louis Mountbatten and The Romanovs
"These old family photograph albums bring back memories of all the happy times we had together in that almost unbelievable world before the Revolution."
"We used to see each other quite often either in Germany, or in Russia. I loved my Russian family and I loved Russia too"
"Olga, Marie, Anastasia and Tatiana were all very beautiful. I remember I had always secretly hoped to marry Marie."
"Yet anyone less like an autocrat than my uncle Nicky would be hard to imagine…he was a very, very kind-hearted simple charming man."
"He was never happier than when he was outside playing with his children. I remember he would purchase us all chocolate-ices, and after, settle down with a long book to read quietly in peace"
"And now, all that was finished. All the happy memories were things of the past…"
Lord Louis "Dickie" Mountbatten
“Louis Mountbatten was a disgusting human being, I don't care how much of a war hero he was, when he was involved in systematically assaulting and raping young boys. If Andrew is getting his honors etc removed why can't we do the same to him?” - Submitted by Anonymous
St Bartholomew's Church. Brightwell Baldwin. Oxfordshire. 13.06.2026
Funeral of Lady Pamela Hicks, youngest daughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and first cousin of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, took place last weekend.
The late Queen's former lady-in-waiting, Lady Pamela Hicks, was laid to rest on Saturday, but senior members of the royal family didn't attend. The event unfortunately clashed with Trooping the Colour, the annual celebrations of the monarch's birthday.
Lady Helen Taylor, the daughter of the Duke of Kent, and Lady Mountbatten were seen among the mourners.

Prince Philip's first cousin, Pamela (Mountbatten) Hicks was the last surviving great-grandchild of Albert and Victoria's daughter, Princess Alice. After dying at the age of 97, Queen Victoria's oldest surviving descendant was laid to rest on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Brightwell Baldwin, Oxfordshire. Lady Pamela was a bridesmaid and lady-in-waiting to the King's daughter (The Princess Elizabeth) and upon the King's death, she became lady-in-waiting to HM The Queen Elizabeth ii.
Filmed as a tribute to the memory of her friend and queen, in 2021 Lady Pamela recorded her childhood and adult memories during a conversation with her daughter, a child bridesmaid to Princess Diana, Ms. India Hicks: My Years with The Queen
India Hicks was accompanied by her husband, David Flint Wood. The Duke of Kent's daughter, Lady Helen Taylor, and Lady Susan Hussey were photographed amongst the friends and family.
Prince George of Battenberg with his baby brother, Louis.
They were first cousins of OTMAA as their mother was Alix's eldest sister, Victoria. They were born as princes with the style of Serene Highness but in 1917, they dropped their German names and titles and became British nobility using the Anglicized surname 'Mountbatten.'
Reminder that Erin Doherty deserves her own series as Princess Anne of Sassingham Palace.
