What makes me even more furious than Louis showing a match during his show are people in tiktok comments defending him for literally anything. I‘ve seen a tiktok of someone critisizing it (and rightfully so) and people in the comments being like „but that‘s just how Louis is“, „look how happy he is“, „if you didn‘t like it you‘re not a fan“, „this is such an important match, of course he watched it“.

Hasn't Louis done this before? Had a screen on stage so he could watch the England match while performing? He hasn't had the match up for the audience to see before though. It's supposed to be a concert, not a live streamed football match.

It's unprofessional, to have focus elsewhere when you have a job to do. But it's Louis, we could have predicted this. His career is barely holding on and he doesn’t care saving it. So he does whatever he wants. He loves it, the rest of his fans don’t.

Well, let's see.

One one side, you have Hudson and Connor who 1) acknowledges the hurt they've caused, 2) tries to minimise the damage, 3) puts out a statement about it so that the hurt people feel heard and validated, 4) affirms that they don't hold these values through their actions. Hudson has also publically called out fans' homophobia, racism, ageism etc.

What i see is someone who makes a mistake, acknowledges it, apologise for it, learns from it and sets an example by displaying changed behaviour. The good they do, by being queer role models, wasian representation, dismantling toxic masculinity and being kind, far outweighs their faults and mistakes they make.

On the other hand you have Louis who hurt his fans, keep hurting his fans, keep showing immature behaviour, never apologises, never acknowledge the hurt he's caused, keeps up behaviour when called out for his sexism, homophobia, racism, discrimination or general anti-social behaviour (lying, gaslighting, law-breaking) and keeps escalating the bad behaviour year by year.

What i see is someone who hasn't learned, is unwilling to learn, who keeps hurting his fans, who never takes any accountability for the role he plays in hurting others (even if he's forced to do a lot of it). I also don't see someone who's artistry, activism or kindness outweighs the other shit he's exposing his fans to or the hurt he's inflicting on others.

If we ever get an apology, or even an acknowledgement of the hurt he's caused, i'd be able to forgive him, move on and enjoy him as an artist again. He's almost 35 years old, 16 years in the business, and somehow less mature than Hudson and Connor are...

Sure Louis has raged against Larries over the years but his fandom and shows still feel a safer place for us. I've been to one Harry show this year and two Louis shows and at my Harry show I faced a nasty episode with Harries.

We were at the back of the pit dancing in a big circle. I was wearing my etsy T shirt with that old pic of Harry sitting on Louis' knee on it. Not even a manip but a real pic. Two Harries opposite me in the circle started pointing at my shirt and then miming vomiting. A few others joined in so I dropped out of the dancing and put a sweatshirt over my top.

I wore Larry merch openly at Louis' concerts and nobody gave me any hassle, and I actually made friends with another Larrie who complimented me.

Harry and Louis' fandoms are interwined, and Louis validating and inciting hate against larries ultimately leads to a more toxic fandom and more hate against larries, no matter if it comes from Louies, Harries or just anti-larries. They all feel validated. Harry's silence when his fans are sending death threats towards us larries is also very loud.

Are you saying Hudson was set up? How on earth did 17 year old Hudson know he was going to be world famous? Who would have plotted almost a decade against him, in case he got world famous?

Both Harry and Louis have done similar things to Hudson before they got famous, and even after they got famous. No one forced them to do any of it. Do i think they might have done something bad in the past, but it was stopped by their PR teams from coming to light? Yes. Do i think a lot of what shitty things Harry and Louis have done, have been threatened to be exposed by their overlords in order to control them? Perhaps, it's plausible.

Do i think Hudson's team leaked this old pic in order to make Hudson comply with their wishes of him having a heterosexual image? No.

I was wondering if you could elaborate a bit more on that: I've always thought Louis to be a very emotionally intelligent individual, someone who is able to understand other people's feelings and needs...however, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore....

An artist and their fans have a symbiotic relationship. If the artist doesn’t do what the fans want, or show them the respect they deserve, they stop being a fan. If the artist isn't given any freedom of artistic expression, they lose their motivation. So you got to have a balance. You need to hit the sweet spot. If the want of the fans matches your own wants as an artist? That's when you get successful.

Louis Tomlinson tm (the artist and persona) seems to have very different wants and needs than his fans does. So that's a disadvantage. In order to cater to your fans and meet their needs and show them respect, you need to know what they want and what they deserve. You need to know your audience, what they respond well to, and what they reject.

Louis is either failing at knowing his fanbase, knowing what they want and respond well to, and what they deserve of respect, or he's failing at wanting to meet their needs or show respect. Neither is something he can afford to do in his position. Both are things under his control. I personally think he's doing a bit of both. Some things he knows, but doesn't want to do, and some things he doesn’t know, because he and his team isn't paying attention. For example:

Overbooking venues for his tour? Doesn’t know the state of his fandom

Fans want No Control? He knows we do, but refuse to sing it for a decade.

Starting up a Discord that discriminates a group of fans? Doesn’t know his fandom.

Fans want him to know the lyrics to his songs? Louis says it's expecting too much of a performing artist.

Fans want an explanation for cancelling a leg of tour as a show of respect? Louis gives a half ass excuse (read lies).
