-- Nora grit her teeth and let out a battle cry as she swung magnhild    at a target. She glared at the practice dummy, feeling anger as she    thought about the events that had taked place earlier that day. Of    course, it wasn’t her fault, but still. She was at the point where if    one person, the wrong person made a wrong move, that she might     accidentally hurt them.

     When she heard familiar footsteps, she tensed. She gripped     magnhild tighter; spinning around and pointing it towards the     intruder. As soon as she had spotted that it was Ren, she     paused; letting out a breath and bropping her arms to her side.

Mercury tilts his head at the sight of the raven-haired teenager on the ground, looking terribly winded and probably in a lot of pain. “Hey… Are you okay?” He asked, leaning over and offering a hand out to the teenager. “You look like you took one heck of a fall.” He helps the teenager up, dusting off what looked like plaster from his arms. “You’re Lie Ren right?” Mercury asked, smiling.

“It’s pink” she murmured a bit glancing a bit too long at the taller male, snapping out of her thoughts she waved quirkly, thinking on her feet she shifted her weight to her topes bouncing up and down a bit giving her some time to conjure up a badly and piss poor excuse on why she was staring.

surprisingly enough, i really don’t have any strong theoriesabout weiss’s scar! which, i know, is pretty strange considering that i write forher. there are without a doubt, a range of theories within the fandom on howshe acquired that scar, whether it was given to her following the events of thewhite trailer, or if she got the scar from elsewhere. i try to stay neutral onthe issue, considering nothing has been confirmed yet, but there are definitelytheories that i favor more so than others.

Alright, there’s one idea I’ve thought quite a lot about in terms of that, though it’s somewhat morbid.

Nora’s surname, Valkyrie, is also a term used in Norse mythology to describe Odin’s handmaidens, who were responsible for determining which soldiers died in battle, which lived, and which out of those who died could be taken to Valhalla. So it isn’t uncommon to see depictions of Valkyrie roaming among the remains of the fallen, and leading them away from the carnage of the battlefield.

Well, I have a head canon that when a person is near death, if Nora is around them, she feels unnaturally compelled to stay at their side until they pass. Whether or not she knew them personally. Or if she stumbles upon a fellow Huntsman or Huntress who died in battle, she is the one to whisper a prayer for them. Yes, even if that means walking from one corpse to the next, even if she’s uncertain of who or what she’s hoping will hear her prayers, she feels obligated to wish them a safe passage to whatever it is that lies beyond this lifetime.

And on a bit of a less important note, Nora has a strong attachment to forests. Being hidden by the safety of trees, that brings her an odd sense of comfort and security. So if there’s ever something troubling her, she’s likely to go and find a tree to climb and seek refuge in. But that’s more based on the idea of Yggdrasil, a tree in Norse mythology, valued for being a holy place for the gods to go to assemble.
