Daisuke's interview about LOTF2 (1st half) by Kateigaho Magazine www.kateigaho.com/sp/information/special/20170308_3246_1.html Q: In the interview with you in our January issue this year, when we asked you what you would do if there would be an offer for LOTF2, you jokingly answered that it would be very tough. When did you hear about this offer and how did you think about it? A: I heard about this around the end of 2016 and when I heard for the first time, I was really worried, really(laugh). Of course I really had this feeling to have a try, however, it would be the second time and I knew people would see the show in a more severe way. So I was like well what I was supposed to do(laugh)? And I had very good image of the show last time and that made it more difficult but when I saw Chery, Paul and Jeri in LA last January, my mind settled down. I thought that because it's a project planned by such first class people like them and the fact that the project is on the move means that we must be able to make a really good show. That gave me positive vibes and made me think forward. Q: Last time you were a guest dancer but this time one of the leading dancers. A: Surely I will have more parts(dances) and my responsibility will be increased, but if I think about it too much, I think I will be depressed by pressure(shy smile), so I would like to face with same attitude just like before. Of course, I will try my best. Q: You said you felt the heated reaction from the audience when you were on the stage last time. A: That's right. But when I caught their eyes, I became very nervous, so I tried not to see into their eyes(laugh). However, because applause and the atmosphere were conveyed so strongly, I will be very happy if I can relish the real pleasure of the stage again. Thoughts on the cast Q: So you will be with Chery, Meryl and Charlie again, could you tell us about your thoughts on them? A: Meryl, Charlie and I have know each other for a long time and seen at ice shows before but by doing this show together, we became really close. Actually, at the beginning, I was really nervous. I knew them but we didn't really have opportunities to interact deeply. But now, after our stage 1 year later, I am looking forward to deepening our relations. As for Charlie, I was really surprised by his acting ability. When they skated, I tended to see Meryl more(laugh) but that stage made me realize how splendid Charlie was. As for Meryl, she has such devastating power(laugh)! Even Cheryl didn't need any word for her, really! And I heard that Cheryl herself now faces dancing more seriously after the show, so I look forward to seeing different/new Cheryl this time. The concept of the show is basically as same as before, expressing the various aspects of love by dances, but I think we can show you wider, deeper and more polished work than before. LOTF2 Q: As for yourself, how are you going to prepare for LOTF2? A: I know I will have more parts but the details are not set yet. Last time, I was not in shape when I started dancing, so I did setting-up exercises in haste, but this time I have more time to prepare, so I feel a little bit more relaxed. But I didn't think I would do this(LOTF2) again(laugh), so I didn't do setting-ups for a while. I would like to start now to make my body move much bigger. In addition, I would like to work on my upper body more. I needed to hold and lift (a partner), so I would like to get ready for various things. Q: What are the differences about body building/making between skating and dancing? The upper body? A: No, I think you need the whole body for dancing. Of course, for skating, you need to build/make your body and the basic concept is same, at the end, but there are differences in moves between floor and ice. I tended to dance with on ice image but naturally I couldn't dance at all. I realized after experiencing a floor dance stage that I need to move differently on floor, not like on ice, and that knowledge is what I have now as advantage. Q: Are the movements so different? A: Well, there are similarities, but the way you balance (your body) is different. When you spin, because of the effect of speed, you can spin automatically on ice and it's not so difficult to balance (your body), but on floor, you have to control your own power to spin. Q: You will have HYOEN 2017 and LOTF2017 in succession. Isn't it difficult to tune yourself up? A: Well, I don't really worry about it because I just keep moving in front of audience. I started working from zero last year, but this time, I can start the training after HYOEN and what I need to do is just to keep my body condition. So I think I can prepare in good shape. It's already March now and I think it might be good without any stop just keep going! Q: I think there are many readers of our magazine as well as our web-site who are going to the show.
