The difference is actually amazing, even tho it's just on the medium settings. And look at these two lots:
Thank you @lazyduchess for all the work you put into improving this game!
Hi Criquette, you mods are amazing and your hoods are so beautiful. I know you did a tutorial on making roofs look better in hood view, so I was wondering if you had any other basic tips (for example, I know that putting windows about a roof makes the wall invisible in hood view)?
Hello Tentaclia, It’s funny, but I totally suck at all those in-game tricks (well, I love to use mixed level floors and all that, but I always need to look it up somewhere). As for the game appearance tricks, I have one that I wanted to post so why not doing it right away. Here it is:I always hated those stairs LODs in neighborhood mode. They look like if they are floating in the air instead of landing their last step on the ground. So It can be improved (sort of):
On this mighty picture you can see that the stairs LOD is actually reaching the ground. And trash can LOD is lowered too. To do that, you need to open Neighborhood.ini file in your TSData/Sys/ folder of your current EP (if you have UC then it should be M&G SP), find [ImposterDisplayTunables] and change the value in ImposterZOffset line to something like:ImposterZOffset=0.1That will lower all lot imposters in your game. Now if I just could find the way to lower this damn ‘hood road.
Old, pixelated lot imposter vs. the improved one (which is far from perfect). It really isn’t that hard, but I’m a bit sad that SimPE crashes if you want to see the lot imposter model... always restarting Sims 2 takes some time. But I’d like to thank @criquette-was-here for the amazing tutorial on this subject! :)
