The lost places and geocaches of Airport Weeze (DE), close to the border with NL. During WOII the British Army built a landing strip here in preparation for the final push across the River Rhine. The runways have been in use for the RAF until the squadron's were relocated after the first Gulf War. The airfield found a new use as a civil airport for low cost carriers and is still in use. Many of the old buildings are lost places now and some of them are used as a training center for the police and fire brigade. We cycled around and had a perfect day with filming, photography and searching for geocaches.
