Day 26 of #inktober2018 "Adrift" When you feel like everything around you is fragile and precarious, like the darkness threatens to swallow you and you fear you might disappear and be forgotten, remember that most of us have felt that way at some point or another, now, yesterday, tomorrow, every day, years ago...Life is a delicate thing that no one has really figured out, but we are all trying our best, and everyone has a story from those times when they felt lost and adrift in a dark ocean of exhaustion and uncertainty. Remember to look around, and search for those other experiences, read and listen to the life of those living around you, and draw strength from the tribulations of others like you, living in a world so big and so mysterious, that all we can really do, is learn more about it and us, together. We are fragile, delicate things, making our way in a world we barely understand, and know very little about. But we have made it this far, still afloat and still curious, more resilient than we ever thought, and more amazing than we realise. ✨🌑LOST IN THE WILDERNESS PT.1 🌑✨ I got lost. I walked into a wild place to commune with the planets. It wasn’t so dark. My mind was full of confusion, second-guessing every good thing and finding a way to fear it falling and evaporating into illusion. I sat in a silver birch and spoke to a wise young soldier, my shoulder to cry on. I’ve never seen his face, but I’ve felt a little bit of his heart, in between the bold and brave. He advised me to “Stop over-thinking!” And ruining perfectly good hours with ‘what ifs’. He was right. The sky was my temple. Before me stood the planets as I took my seat on a soft, recently mown mound of grasses. It may have been wet, but the short grasses still wrapped around each other like kittens in a basket, purring, a soft blanket-like seat. . My first salutation was to Saturn, planet of lessons OM SRI SHANISHWARAYA SWAHA. I gazed and made japa. All the auras of the trees sprang to light in the dark. They stood out as though backlit. Their edges blurred in my third-eye sight. They pulsed as they breathed into the night. . My second salutation was to Jupiter, great Jove, planet of blessings. OM SRI GURAVAY NAMAHA. I gazed and made japa. The tree auras danced from their centres across the starry sky, like the northern lights. A tuft of grass beside me squeaked out for attention and I looked down into its dark, placing my fingers into velvety depths. I looked back at the planets and the space between them, filled with points of light. I wasn’t cold. “Give me the blessings of my life lessons.” I requested simply, acknowledging my internal chaos and releasing it into the Earth. . I had a craving to go deeper into the night...
