Movement paused. All he'd been doing was working through the ground, claws were convenient for that. Inuyasha hadn't really thought much of them before, other than being another weapon in his arsenal against yōkai kind. Claws sharp enough to... be incredibly practical. Chop what wood was necessary for fires, and construction. Cut through areas that were dense, overgrown. Now the man was using them as a makeshift hoe, not like he couldn't clean the dirt with river water when they were finished.
It felt like some way as repayment. It didn't matter that Celine hadn't asked anything in return for teaching him about herbs, and flowers. He felt it absolutely necessary that he pay her back in some way, and money wasn't something he had a good grip of. Hayden had to explicitly tell him when a certain sack of... whatever it was called, was enough for what was necessary at the market.
Helping out with her garden was all he could do, it was a win win situation. In the same process, he was learning how to grow things himself, rather than just sniffing out what had already grown in the wild. It was life changing, if he could grow medicinal herbs himself, he'd have some kind of use.
How did people deal with such peaceful times? Grateful as he was that people weren't dying left and right, Inuyasha often found himself with absolutely nothing to do. What humans considered work, he considered simple tasks.
Clawed fingers came to an abrupt stop, ears lowering slightly. Those were the only movements he made.

"Celine, I'm not some magical creature from the forest like everyone thinks I am." Though he raised his head, Inuyasha didn't turn to meet her gaze. Too dangerous. The look of disgust on her face he was expecting would hurt more than being yelled at.
