It’s the little things that mean the most. Just a few things to remember you by. #lossishard #gonebutneverforgotten #grandpas #hityarightinthefeels #nevereasytosaygoodbye
The Hardest Thing
One of the hardest things to deal with, for most people, is losing someone you love. It’s hard to think about all the memories you have with that person. It’s hard to think of all the things you wish you could have done or said. Or maybe the things you wish you could take back. ———————————————————— A few months into 2017, I found that my dad’s mom had fallen and broke her ankle. For a second, I thought I lost my grandma but luckily I didn’t. About 10 minutes before that news I had found out that my mom’s dad had another heart attack and the thought of losing him ran threw my head. Both of the news tore me into pieces. Thankfully my grandpa healed well soon after. My grandma had surgery and the next day my dad and I were there to see her. It was extremely sad but she was OK and would heal well with all her exercises and therapy. Not even a week later I found out my mom had overdosed and was on life support. My brothers and I went to see her and the doctors gave nothing but bad news. She was unresponsive, she was cold, and seeing her like that brought endless tears. Along with bad news the doctors gave my big brother the role to make all my moms decisions. Hours and hours spent by her side and nothing good. They tried to wake her up and she was groggy and would freak out and cry so she got sedated. My brothers and I were tired and stressed so we went to a hotel to sleep. The next morning we went to see our mother and she was awake. She would cry and freak out but we had to keep her calm so she wouldn’t be sedated again. It worked and a few hours later she got the breathing machine removed. She healed fast and well but her bad habits didn’t stop. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Within a week I had to deal with almost losing 3 people if some circumstances were different. That has been the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. Maybe more so because it happened so fast. It reminds me to express the love I have for them every single day and to never say things I’d regret. People can disappear so easily and unexpectedly. Family is important. Never turn your back on family.
Tonight's sky reflects my mood as a storm rolls in. This morning, I lost my beloved grandmother. She had the kindest heart, inspired and nurtured my love of reading, and was one of the most important people in my life. Thankfully, she is now at peace and no longer in pain. I just need to get through the storm of losing her. . . . . #lossishard #ripgrams #bestgrandmaever #grieving #nofilter
