For today’s #inktober I was inspired by memories of the tile floor at my grandma’s house in #dominicanrepublic and also by the #losacriolla from #puertorico . • • If someday you visit Puerto Rico, you might notice the Creole slab floor, one of the most attractive elements of many of the houses and buildings built during the first half of the 20th century. The first samples were imported from Barcelona around 1900 and began to be produced locally. These slabs were produced manually, one by one, in an infinite number of styles and colors. The Creole slab went out of fashion towards the 1960s but I’m pretty sure that this somehow will make a come back! They are so beautiful and full of history. Someday I would love to bring a little bit of that history into my own house. https://www.instagram.com/p/B3dYkplhB_8/?igshid=9aqdi9ec0pyy
