Quasar’s Convetezynce Training
In the backyard of an old house in Hoenn, Quasar set up a bottle on a table, watched by his Hisuian Lilligant, Lily and his Sigilyph, Tlaloc. His objective: find some way to break the bottle with Convetezynce.
He positioned himself a ways from the bottle, then willed a bit of Convetezynce from his chest into his hand. When he had formed a little green glowing cloud, he hurled it at the bottle.
The bottle was knocked over, but otherwise intact
“That’s something, at least” Quasar thought, setting the bottle up again.
He then thought back to a conversation he had had with his friend on the subject. She had mentioned 2 approaches she used for her power, which by Quasar’s understanding, had at least some similarities to his. These were: convincing the target to change, and having a focus image for the “casting”.
Quasar made another Convetezynce cloud, but this time tried to infuse the cloud with his desire for the bottle to break. But when he hurled the cloud, the bottle was harmlessly knocked over. “Guess that’ll be a no-go” Quasar thought
Quasar then thought of the other approach: mentally drawing an image and projecting it, like an illusion. Illusions were great and all, but if it was true that Convetezynce had the power to change the fates of entire multiverses, why not push himself, Quasar thought, and try to give some substance to those images?
Quasar readied himself, and started forming a mental image, when he remembered something: when he had used a Banishment ability against Shadowglass in the past, a very distinct mental image of a spiral - a shape - appeared in his mind. What if… he applied a similar technique to this exercise?Â
Quasar faced the bottle again, closed his eyes, and mentally thought of a shape, for this exercise, a line, but as he was preparing to send this line toward the bottle, he imbued the line with the desire for the bottle to break.Â
Watching vigilantly, Tlaloc observed as Quasar’s extended fingers began to glow green, before a bright green line sprung from his fingers, hit the bottle, and shattered it to pieces
Quasar opened his eyes, and saw the bottle in pieces. He was elated, but it wasn’t time to celebrate yet. Getting more bottles, Quasar performed this exercise several more times, until he got the hang of casting the line. He then decided to try imbuing the line with other effects, mainly one that weakened whatever target it hit.Â
Quasar trained for a while, until he had gotten the hang of this new ability of his. He checked the time. It was about an hour after noonday. “Is that the time? Wow, I was at this for a while” Quasar thought, going inside to get lunch, feeling surprisingly fatiguedÂ
