My favorite way to draw flowers: do an interesting line drawing (this one is with a Pitt oil-based pencil) and then do a painting on top of the drawing that doesn’t exactly line up. It’s not a coloring book, it’s a painting sitting on top of a drawing and they’re slightly different. It’s easy to get caught up in trying to make flowers perfect and totally accurate, but this method takes the pressure off for me. 😁🌷🎨 These tulips came from friends who volunteered to pick us up from the airport when we returned from Amsterdam, made sure we had the all-important half and half in the fridge for the next morning, and left tulips on the table.
