BonSoir: Music, Health, Tipsy Talk & Social Media.
BonSoir mes amis!
After battling through the stormy weather in Liverpool brought over from New York by the 'snowpocolypse', Lucy, Rosie and I gathered our thoughts and sat down for our third show of 2015.
This week we began with our usual 'Song of the Week' feature. Lucy's choice was: 'Oh Wonder' by Body Gold and mine, the winner of this weeks competition, was: Thinking About It by Just Kiddin. Just Kiddin are a DJ duo who are claimed by Resident Adviser to delve 'into the depths of long gone generations of feel-good funk, soul and disco'. The perfect description for the sound that I love. Have a listen to this wonderful track on the link below:

We continued with talk of good health and tips for 'clean eating'. Making use of Lizzie Fuhr's blog post on the matter, we discussed a few of her rules. We found all of the tips to be useful, such as: No processed food, Skip added sugars and Eat more produce. It was evident by the praise in the studio that we all enjoy our processed meats from time to time. However too much of this really does no favors for your body. They are usually high in sugars, contain artificial ingredients and easily lead to over consumption; everything we must try to avoid. Take a look at Lizzie's blog for more in-depth advice using the link below:

Contradictory to good health, we succeeded with our weekly 'Tipsy Talk'. After the ever emotional anecdote by Rosie Steedman about her drunken adventures and problematic experiences with downing Prosecco, Lucy and Rosie reviewed their Monday night out in Brooklyn Mixer on Seel Street, Liverpool. Every Monday, promotions company Cool It LTD hold one of their student nights 'Block Party' at this venue. We all agreed that the 'vibe' mediates well between students and a more formal crowd. It really is a compatible 'mixer' of people.
This weeks Do's and Don'ts
With social media proving to be a popular method of promotion for companies like Cool It LTD, we moved on to our relative topic of the Social Media Do's and Don'ts. Using tips from Stephanie Frasco from online source Social Media Today, we learnt:
Do not only talk about yourself online
Do be authentic and genuine
Do tailor your content to the right network
Do not be afraid of haters
Do build relationships

To finish the show we played our weekly 'party anthems' to brighten the blustery Wednesday evening & bid you all a very... BonSoir.

BonSoir: Music, Fashion, Tipsy Talk & University Life.
BonSoir mes amis !
Once again Lucy, Rosie and I did our 'thang' in the Looprevil Radio studio. In the deep, dark yet fabulous depths of the John Foster building's bottom floor.
Tonight's show was a little different to usual as we were joined by my dear friend Natalie (Tilly) Townsend. She is an aspiring journalist and works amazingly with the camera ... So who better to commission the job of filming and composing BonSoir's very own promotional video's.
Yes that's right, PROMO VIDEO'S! Coming soon ...
Check out Tilly's work on these links:

So we succeeded the standard introductions with a few tunes to lighten the mood of a dark and very cold Wednesday evening under the roof of our beloved University, Liverpool John Moores. The wind and rain will never get us down when discussing clothes however, as our spirits were lifted with speak of 304 Clothing. This is a brand I have mentioned before on the show and on my blog. If you wish to scroll down a few posts you can read more. They have a very youthful vibe and place emphasis on the importance of friendship and family, all love no hate. They have recently created a 304 'Story' which elaborates more on the brand ethos and style. Take a look using the link below ... You may or may not spot my silly grin in there somewhere ...

Meanwhile, Tilly was working her booty off to catch some fun yet appropriate Kodak moments all in aid of promoting BonSoir. Our weekly feature 'Song of the Week' quickly came about as we were eager to share our - personally - most over played song of the week. I am sure most readers are guilty of this crime. First up we had my choice which was Holding On by Classixx. A song described by owner of 304 clothing as being 'like Jamiroquai but better... Could be in a 70's disco or Cafe Mambo's'. Quite a complimentary comparison I would suggest as Jamiroquai are placed highly in the rating of many & of my own.
After this we played Lucy's song of the week which was Drink, Dance, Play by Young Kato. A more 'indie' choice which ultimately won the contest! Yet again Lucy wins the feature. 2-1 to Miss Fegan. Here's the YouTube link to the song:

Following this was the infamous 'Tipsy Talk' feature by Rosie Steedman who is always so willing to spill her drunken secrets with her fellow studio pals. This week consisted of shots, festive cheer and frozen vomit. Yum.
THIS WEEK'S DO'S AND DONT'S
Our newest feature of 'Do's & Dont's' was very relevant this week as it focused on University Life. Using website 'Compare the Uni' we found some useful tips. Check them out on the link below:
http://comparetheuni.com/article/university-dos-and-university-donts-1366620457/
We found it more plausible however to swap the first tip from 'underestimating the amount spent on toilet role and juice' to 'toilet role and milk'. The bare necessities. We agreed that freshers SHOULD go to freshers events regardless of it being your home city or not. It's important to socialize and experience the long, bewildering, drunk or perhaps in some cases not so drunk nights. We found some tips like 'Don't miss lectures' slightly more controversial. Of course we don't condone missing terrible amounts but the odd few, with reasonable excuse, won't hurt. Sometimes you just can't help it ...
We ended the show with the usual party groove which consisted of artists such as Clyde P, Blonde and Miguel Migs.
Thank you for reading & happy Wednesday to you all !
Much Love, Caroline, BamBam. X
