1. Go wild on YouTube

Do it. Open YouTube and take a break from Sex and the City, Game of Thrones, Suits, Dexter, Breaking Bad or whatever you're into. Instead, try and search for interview-related videos. It is full of great tips out there, and one of our favourite 'series' is called Google on Air, which offers tips from Google recruiters that can be applicable to pretty much any job interview out there. They're very catchy and truly enriching, and here's an example for you on the topic of "Google Recruiters Share Resume Tips & Tricks". DO IT. 

2. Write down your potential answers and read them out loud

Writing down answers can help you organise your thoughts...and remember things that you might have forgotten but that may be very valuable to prove some points during your phone call interview. Reading them out loud will then help you stick them in your mind. However, don't repeat them to death or you may end up sounding like a robot or a heartless machine. Just do it one time, that's it.

3. Calm down, have a camomile and be prepared to..be spontaneous

You're not going to war: you're just taking a phone call. Yes, you might be stressed out because that job represents everything you want, but take it more as a nice informal chat..finally, it's only the first step of a long job interview (unless the recruiter specifically told you that this phone call is going to be career-defining...well in that case you may want to prepare a bit more aka A LOT MORE).

4. Get your headphones out

Might sound silly, but it's not. The recruiter told you that the phone call will last about fifteen minutes..easy, right? But can you concentrate and sound super confident while having a growing pain in your arm due to keeping the phone stuck to your ear? Maybe not. So make sure to have a good pair of headphones with you to make your life easier ;-)

And...good luck! The first step of a long job interview process (unless otherwise stated...!) is about to start. This is exciting! Believe in yourself and go get that job!
