Lonegaze was a cat originally named Gaze that showed up in Windclan territory seemingly out of nowhere, he claimed he had never been in a clan before but had an extensive knowledge of how clans worked and what was even more strange was that he had the same knowledge about illnesses and herbs as a medicine cat did.
None of the clans recognized him, so no one knew how he could've possibly known so much. At the time Windclan didn't have a medicine cat so they hesitantly accepted Gaze and named him Lonegaze, after proving to be kind and loyal he was given Mintpaw as an apprentice only a few moons after his sudden appearance.
