@lolcat76 requested a look into some Lie to Me fic from this post. So I dug up a holiday season appropriate one - that honestly shows how extra I can be sometimes. The Lightman Group is doing Secret Santa for their company Christmas party and of course Cal draws Gillian and decides to take some inspiration from her favorite Christmas song.
…Gill’s gonna take me to dinner.  You're welcome to join." Cal shakes his head and resumes his spot at his desk.
"I've got some polishin to do. Â Let me know before you leave." Emily nods with a small frown on her face before putting the hat on her head and wandering out of her father's office. Cal logs into his computer and opens up his web browser instead of his book document. Â He searches the lyrics to 'Santa Baby' and prints them out. Â He grabs a highlighter and highlights all of the gifts in the song before grabbing his pen and starting to search each individual gift. Â He bookmarks the websites that he finds things on and jots the price down next to the highlighted section on the paper. Â Once he gets done he reads it over, muttering along to himself.
"Sable jacket, two thousand…convertible, ten thousand…night on a yacht, two thousand…row house down payment, twenty thousand…filled visa card, twenty five hundred…Tiffany trimmed Christmas tree, fifteen hundred…and one engagement ring…fourteen thousand…for a grand total of…fifty two thousand dollas…eh…that's close to the twenty five dolla limit." Cal clicks his pen a couple times before looking at his accounts and moving some money around before logging off his computer and folding up the paper and tucking it into his pocket along with his wallet.
