The Trickster drew his attention away from the roiling snakes’ nest that had once been the floor, turning a sly smile on the pale boy. “You left me alone for ten minutes and expected any different?”
Jack crouched on the crook of his staff, carefully balanced to stand upright to keep him away from the snakes Loki had created. He pushed down the hood of his black sweatshirt.
"Of course not." He grinned.
Loki trod untroubled through the tangled mass, for the serpents parted wherever he set his foot. "Then why the surprise?"
