this was a hard time for them all, after the bitter defeat back on enies lobby, having lucci down for the count there was some lost moral between the group, kaku could feel it. he wanted to make everything okay again, he wanted to see the smiling faces of the others once more, so he said the one thing that he knew was true.

they were his family.

little did he know that jabra would say it back, making kaku turn his head slack jawed but there was a smile that came creeping up behind it.

just aim beyond the clouds and rise above the crowds.

fourteen years old and here kaku was learning how to sky walk. his breaths were heavy as he had been at it since the early hours of the morning and here it was nearing dusk.

that was when he jumped when he heard what his senior had to say. aim for the clouds...

"yeah, that's what sky walking is!" he retorted with that teenager spit to his tone. but he took in that he had to rise above everyone else, that might help him. it wasn't how high he jumped first, it was gradually getting there.

so, with yet another breath, he rose a leg up, pressing against the air with enough force to get him just feet above the ground, and then another leg--another foot. until he fell back down to the ground, but there was a laugh that left his throat.
