From an artist's perspective, it's always nice when people actively listen to your music. When the artists produce the music, they don't think, 'Somebody could hear that in the background'. But Lofi is different... I'm constantly thinking about how I could get the beats as smooth but also as inconspicuous as possible to create a chilly nostalgic sounding vibe to play it in the background while working studying or just relaxing. I think lofi artists somehow are taking background music to the next level..
