Within a half hour of reaching my aunt's house, my cousin showed up and just, took Elsa and my aunt's dog for a walk (or so she said) and even though she was super scared (Elsa) my aunt was like, oh she's the dog whisperer basically!

So maybe fifteen minutes later I get a snapchat of her walking Elsa and Elsa pees on the tree and the four other giant dogs that my cousin owns swarms her and she just seems super happy. so I'm like, oh okay, maybe this is good?

Then not even ten minutes later, I get a call from my cousin saying, uh oh, I let Elsa off the leash, and I found a hole in the fence, she's not in the dog park anywhere!!!! (At which point I'm like, huh, dog park, WHAT ELSA?!)

Long story short, my aunt and other cousin and I hopped in the car, drove to the dog park, and the four of us all walked/drove around the area, for several miles in different directions, for two hours.

My other cousin and I had to get back to my aunt's to put all our kids to bed, and it was past 10:30 PM, and like... sure, my cousin said she was not going home til she found her, but like...

We're never going to see her again. I know it. If she had been found they would've called me, my number is on her collar and she's microchipped. I bet she's still running, nearly three hours later, because she's so fucking anxious and skiddish, I don't think she'd let anyone get close to her.

So, you know, AMAZING FUCKING START to our "relaxing weekend getaway."

The Lodi, CA chamber of commerce is joining the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce for a very special open house and mixer event at The Falls Event Center in Elk Grove, CA and Self Care Awakening will be there.
