SOLAMEN (district); inside of the city, this is where the vast majority of people live since it's the most "finished" area as far as restoration/rebuilding goes. As this is the initial district newcomers are ushered into once they come out of quarantine, Grieve Witlolt and comapny have taken particular pains to make Solamen into a welcoming environment as well as a testament to the beauty mankind is capable of- even after so much loss. Unlike the other three districts, one might go so far as to call Solamen "beautiful" with its warm stone facades, preserved architectural details and carefully restored statues- a rebuild endeavour that ultimately took seven years with the helping hands of many. Though the signs of apocalyptic destruction in such an ancient city are unavoidable, with the world splintered and dust-covered the way it currently is, it is an extreme unlikihood that one might find another place like Solamen on Earth.

The DOCKS | Or rather what remains of the ancient docks and the surrounding market area. With everything in the world being thrown into twenty years of complete chaos, needless to say the oceans were not unaffected. It's only in recent months that the inhabitants of city have seen the ocean recede very slightly, revealing the vast and splintered ruins of what used to be a ship dock. Various wordly detritus- pre-War remnants, such as the hollow shells of automobiles, mingled with old-timey, rotten ship wreckage and so on- frequently come to rest on the shore. The Swells inhabitants gather what's useful to repurpose elsewhere in the city and everything else is hauled out over the walls to be burned or buried as necessary. As the shore is kept in good order, it's not unsusal to see people in the water during their free time, or children playing on the mirror-y shore. (Small beach excursions are a bittersweet reminder of what life was like before.) For the most part, however, the sea is a valuable resource for, not only building materials, but, of course, food. One of the more important duties in the city is fishing (dangerous work given how tempestuous deeper waters of the sea have become). Those who fish and/or gather in the sea tend to do so from either the makeshift jetty or from long wooden boats strung with net. Since the sea is right on the city's front doorstep, unsuprisingly, communal meals are largely sea-based with the most common and simple fare being white fish stew and the most popular being steamed soft-shell crab.
