Okay ngl OC OTPs are my shit. You can do whatever you want and they are BY DEFAULT CANON, you do not have to worry that the creator will misrepresent a relationship you really identify with because YOU ARE THE CREATOR. HAHAHAHA
I need to figure out what’s going on with these guys actually. Their setting has become a lot more nebulous. But they are my tragic couple -- they try, they try so hard, but circumstances are outside their control and there is only so much they can do -- they don’t function as a couple in isolation (who does?), they need other people to link out to, but they’re both fairly solitary by nature, and ... well ...
ADORABLE WIVES. YES. The City by the Lake is their story. I don’t have much general about them, but I have one very clearly-laid-out scene:
A group of travelers arrive in a town, mostly on foot, but with a few horses and pack animals. They’re disheveled, dusty, exhausted, dressed mostly in cloth and well-worn leather armor, with a few flashes of metal. One of them -- Aime -- picks up her pace, joining step with the leader and catching her arm; they exchange a few words quietly.
Whatever the exchange, Aime immediately brightens -- she straightens, laughs, slaps the leader’s shoulder, and sprints down a side street without another moment.
Cut to Aime sprinting headling down a cliffside path; there’s a wooden safety fence but not much else for safety. She’s grinning uncontrollably and yelling a name, over and over, until the path widens out and she comes to a broader mini-plateau. There’s a stone-walled cottage with a thick garden: flowers, climbing plants on trellises and covering the walls of the cottage themselves, bushes and herb clusters. There’s another wooden fence surrounding the cottage, with a gate, but the traveler doesn’t care: she vaults the gate without slowing down, still yelling. Another woman -- Ien -- runs out of the house. She pauses, then springs forward, just as Aime collides with her; they hug, kiss, laugh -- Aime is home and they are both so happy
By Season and By Sun. This is the one story I have that’s entirely dedicated to relationship, and it’s great, and I like it a lot -- it ties into my feelings about home, and traveling, and family, and distance, and it’s good and I’m very fond of it.
Birdwiiiiiiives okay okay okay I love these two. So much. They’re so cute. They’re a bonded pair of scarlet macaws -- Keyeh is Arkhe’s second mate, after eir first was killed by an eagle. They love each other so much. SO MUCH. They have a nest with three eggs and one independent subadult child, and they are so happy.
Then their patch of forest gets trashed, and much of their flock is killed or scattered; Keyeh (and a few other survivors) are netted and caged, while Arkhe is trapped under a fallen tree branch with a broken wing. By universe mechanic, the trauma forces Arkhe into a human form; she’s very upset about this and on a warpath to rescue her and get her real body back, not this disgusting squishy wet flappy naked thing with senses that are either suffocatingly dull or horrifyingly intense
I have a concept lurking around that’s between a queen and her oldest friend & most trusted knight/advisor (which in my defense I came up with way before i watched steven universe/pearlrose) but I’ve done very little development
