Don’t become addicted to comfortability
So, this is something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently.
I’ve shared a few of my success stories on here. Over the past year, I got my house, my boyfriend, my full time job, my dog, and my car. It’s been nice and it really did prove to me that manifesting is real. However, I realized I’m not as happy as I could be. And that isn’t because my life is absolutely horrible or that I regret any of my manifestations, it’s that I feel like I didn’t dream big enough and became too comfortable with a mundane life.
Now, let me clarify, not everyone needs to have big manifestations and make big changes to their lives to be happy. BUT, there are times when you don’t fly far from your usual expectations and things end up in a downfall or a hamster wheel.
Let me explain what I mean. So, I became used to working a job that’s just okay for me — don’t love it, don’t hate it — and ended up building my everyday life around that. My townhouse is close to it. Stores I enjoy shopping at are close to it. BUT, it’s all because of comfortability. I became used to living far from my job (prior to moving) that my desire became living close to there. But have I always dreamed of working, especially of where I’m at? Nope.
Also, because my expectations of work haven’t changed, my job has gotten worse in many ways. I’ve always had expectations that there isn’t a good manager out there, that “work is work,” that the industry I’m in doesn’t pay well. I never expected things to really improve. So, guess what? All of those things are still true.
I got stuck in this mindset of just “dealing with it,” because it’s what I’m used to and what I’ve always expected. My advice to you: Don’t. Be. This. Way. You get in a habit of being comfortable with the mundane and the bad instead of putting forth the bit of effort to manifest better things. You don’t have to do things like work at a job you hate…hell, you don’t have to work at all and still get money. I let it get bad and it has done things like burn out my boyfriend and I, take up our time, and make us unhappy.
I’m not saying this to put out bad energy, I’m saying this because it can happen when you let circumstances dictate and worsen your life, just because it’s what you’re comfortable with. I’m telling you to avoid this and manifest a good life for yourself.
So, how can you avoid becoming addicted to comfortability in bad circumstances? I have some writing prompts I got from one of Aonu’s YouTube videos:
- what do I find to be safe/comfortable in my current reality?
- what do I fear about my desired reality?
- create energetic alignment:
* what’s bad in my current reality and good in my desired reality?
* How will it hurt and how will I feel if I stay stuck where I am?
* Why do I want the dreams I have and what is it that I will end up having? (Be specific.)
Writing all this out can be helpful to understand why you’re still tied to your current reality (CR) but reminding yourself why you shouldn’t be and why your desired reality (DR) is so much better. I know it helped release a lot for me and is now a written reminder of why I need to get myself out of the circumstances I’ve been in. Let yourself write out all your thoughts and dreams. Have a free for all. You might pour out more than you thought you would.
Put it in a notebook you like that you’ll keep close by or stick what you wrote to your fridge or a wall you walk past a lot. You need to remind yourself why you should be manifesting your dreams instead of staying in bad circumstances just because it’s what you’re comfortable with.
I know it can be easier said than done since logic and certain expectations become so ingrained in our minds. However, it is absolutely not worth it to get stuck in a constant loop of bad or mundane situations and circumstances.
Think of it like this: you can continue to stay where you are and things will stay the same. OR you can put forth a small bit of effort to just change your thoughts — no actions needed — and you’ll have everything you want, even quicker than you can imagine. Which would you prefer? My guess would be the second option, right?
Remember: you are capable of making anything you want yours. Anything. Nothing is impossible.
You have the information you need to manifest, you’re just worried about making the changes.
